FOOD BAZAAR — Local services in Town of Islip

My mother and I went in today to get some groceries. We first noticed that there were a few flies crawling on the bakery bread. We continued our grocery shopping (avoided buying the bread of course). So we get everything we need and then things start to go down hill. The transaction seemed to be going well at the start, the lady scans everything and puts them in a bag. My mother puts her card in entered her pin and the machine asked her to remove the card like any other transaction. The lady who was attending us turned around to start talking to her coworker and attended the other customer so we grab our cart and go. So we exit the store and my mom realized that she couldn’t find her receipt but didn’t think much of it (and at this point we had reached the end of the parking lot where our car was).. until the cart locked and we heard someone yelling at us. Here comes 4 store works yelling at us to stop because the lady didn’t even process the transaction. We didn’t even know that she had to use some key for it to process? We are not from around the area so we were confused at how that works. They proceeded to surrounded us and the one security grabbed the cart. The three guys gave us looks and the same lady kept telling my mom she had to come back into the store. If she had been paying attention in the first place it would have saved us the embarrassment. The people who work in that seafood department are super RACIST. Today I went there and was waiting and the workers looked at me multiple times without coming to assist me but as soon as a HISPANIC woman came over someone came to help her while I was still waiting and while he was helping her another HISPANIC lady came and then he went to help her and blatantly ignored me so I told the guy I was here waiting before both of those women and he glanced at me and then continued to help her ignoring me AGAIN and I was the LAST to be serviced even though I was standing there FIRST. So I asked him why he ignored me and he has the NERVE to tell me the lady was there first even though not a single person was there when I walked up. This is not the first time this has happened to me & it also happened to my mother and my sister as well and she spoke to the manager about it because of the disrespect she felt and nothing was done. I was absolutely pissed off today and it’s a shame because it’s a supermarket that we shop at very often but not anymore. The disrespect has gotten way outta hand. The workers in that seafood department are clearly outwardly racist and it’s absolutely disgusting. & I thought I was the only one but I see other reviews with the same issue & not to mention the diversity of workers in that supermarket is non existent I see no white, no black nothing but Hispanics the only African American you guys hire is the ones you need for protection like are they not useful for anything else?! what...

DO NOT SHOP HERE!! RACIST & RUDE!! I’ve been shopping here every month since they’ve opened until Thursday when I was held against my own Will & accused of stealing. I got all my items and couldn’t afford some at checkout so I paid for what I could and left. I decided to return 3 items so that I could get the Jamaican chicken Pattie’s I really wanted. The manager caught a attitude she thought I wanted my money back. I explained I had just left the store and never left the parking lot. I literally turned back around. My receipt had the time on it. I was held in front of the store to be embarrassed & humiliated. But what made it worse, was the cashier didn’t say anything knowing I had just left her line from buying my items, and the no good security guard I asked for the shopping cart. NOBODY stood up for me knowing I did NOTHING wrong and NOBODY apologized even after they found out I wasn’t lying. But what kind of store treats people like this for returning or exchanging items when they have a valid receipt that was printed 5 min before this racially motivated situation happened. I will NEVER go back here & I’ve contacted my lawyer and the Better Business...
