They have everything and decent pricing!!! I just don't like that I have to "check" my items out myself so I just wait until a human opens a lane and checks me out. This happens quite often at so many other stores so I don't mean to pick on Stop & Shop!!! I am not extremely wealthy. And I am not lazy. But I also Don't agree with shopping at a store and paying for their prices and then having to check out my own items?! It's time consuming and we Don't need to learn how to do this BECAUSE WE DON'T Work there, We don't get paid, We are paying them, And if we have to do the work ourselves we should get some sort of discount or an incentive. Otherwise, it's just easier to have the produce/meats, etc. delivered. It's taking jobs away from people, nice people that work in the store. I know it's automation, I know it's the wave of the future blah blah. I've been in the Technology business for over 30 years, (Semiconductors and automated machine manufacturing & programming) you could just see that it would take over many job functions.

Ya know, I went shopping here Sunday night and I was so tempted to leave a terrible review but I said let me not. It’s a business, they’re trying and I didn’t. But today, I open the coconut I get from them FULL OF MOLD. It’s clear no one is trying in this store. My wife is pregnant and she had one of these coconuts yesterday.
Do I have time to find my receipt drive back to the store and get my 3 dollars for a moldy coconut? No.
Do I now have to worry that my pregnant wife is going to get sick, yes.
Does the store care? No. If they did, they wouldn’t put this stuff out.
Their produce was some of the worst I’ve seen in years. Practically everything was rotting. On top of that, not a single cashier on my huge order. I had to check myself out like I work there, while the machine repeatedly tells a worker to come over and swipe their card like 10 times. Took me 25 minutes to check out my entire order, instead of a cashier swiping...
Read moreOn 8/7/25 I used the self checkout machine and my card was not scanning so I then moved to the machine adjacent and the worker I believe her name is “Melissa” came over and aggressively told me I could not switch to a different machine. Sensing the hostility and aggression I decided to ignore her completely and finish my checkout on the new machine , She then proceeded to call me an “a-hole” twice, followed by looking at female customer and stating “these are the idiots I have to deal with.” And she then laughed. In complete disbelief I promptly walked directly to the managers office to report this , I was greeted by two polite females that contacted the male manager to report this bullying. The manager was very understanding and also polite. I’m dumbfounded that an employee would curse at a customer when nothing was even said to them, I’m sure this won’t be the last time someone reports this...
