This place is a gem in its new location and I'm impressed with the transformation. The modern space is beautifully designed with whimsical wall art that adds character without being overwhelming. Seating is comfortable and inviting - perfect for lingering over coffee.
Food 5/5 The menu offers a wonderful variety of interesting options that go beyond standard breakfast fare. Everything I've tried has been expertly prepared and flavorful. Portion sizes are generous and presentation is thoughtful. No digestion issues. The only minor disappointment is that toast is now an extra charge with the "start your day" egg meal, which feels a bit nickel-and-dime for an otherwise excellent establishment.
Service 5/5 The staff here truly shines. They're attentive without hovering, keeping coffee cups filled and checking in at just the right moments. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seems to enjoy working here. Service is consistently prompt even during busy periods.
Ambiance 5/5 The new space is a significant upgrade. It strikes that perfect balance between modern design and cozy comfort. The whimsical wall decorations add personality, and the overall atmosphere is bright and welcoming. Noise levels remain reasonable even when busy. Big windows!
Cleanliness 5/5 Being a new location, everything is spotless from tables to service areas. The restrooms are well-maintained and now can accommodate more than one person. The overall cleanliness adds to the pleasant dining experience.
Parking/Accessibility 5/5 What a difference from their previous location! Parking is now plentiful, and the addition of a traffic light makes entering and exiting much safer and more convenient. This improvement alone makes visiting much more enjoyable.
Value 4/5 While not inexpensive, you definitely get what you pay for here. The quality of ingredients, preparation, and overall experience justifies the pricing. Portions are satisfying, though the à la carte approach to basics like toast feels unnecessary given the price point of main dishes.
Overall 5/5 Brownstones has become my go-to breakfast spot for good reason. The combination of excellent food, attentive service, beautiful surroundings, and improved accessibility makes it worth every penny. Whether meeting friends or enjoying a solo meal, this place consistently delivers a top-notch experience that keeps me...
Read moreI got dragged here once again, by my optimistic sisters. The food was fine, my issue with this place is and always has been the service and menu options. Let me start with, the menu could have more lighter options or options for people who don’t eat pork. The closest thing to something I would order would be the feast which had eggs, potatoes, pancakes, and three sides of pork.(I thought it was three choices but the waitress said it comes with all three) As someone who doesn't want to contribute to the food waste problems in this country, I asked to order the feast and I would give the sides to my sisters. I asked if instead of an omelette with cheese if I could just have scrambled eggs. The server made it seem like this was a big ask and then said I could have a plain omelette. Not have a scrambled egg option is an odd choice to me but okay. Then when she said it was THREE meats, two of which my sisters didn’t eat I said okay, can I just order the kids version and pay for a side of potatoes. Mind you this would equal to the be same amount as the Feast but had more appropriate portions for me. I was told no, I can’t order that. So you want me to order food to go to waste? Frustrated, I ordered the food for my 2 yr old, who I was just going to let eat off my plate. The food arrives I split up the food with my sister and my son who just ate the bacon. The check arrives and the waitress (rudely) says “they made an exception this time but next time don’t order off the kids menu” first of all, don’t watch me like I’m stealing. Secondly, don’t scold me because I don’t want to order a bunch of food I’m not eating. There is a whole toddler with me and I can order food for him if I want to and then eat it myself. There were two other adults who ordered food, so don’t act like someone is trying to get over on you. And I tried to order an amount that would equate to the adult portion in the first place. The lighter options on this menu were like a grain bowl, yogurt and egg white omelette. Toast and buttermilks have so many more options on their menu and honestly the staff is way more pleasant. I really didn’t appreciate being treated like some thief because I didn’t want...
Read moreThis was my 2nd time here at Brownstones, my girlfriend and I were greeted at by a young woman behind the counter. She told us we were able to pick any seat in the house we choose, I'm guessing this was because it was 9:15 on a Tuesday and luckily not crowded. We sat in a booth near the window and our waitress was at our table in about 4 minutes. We ordered our coffee while we browsed the menu. My girlfriend decided on the French toast bites and I went with the fifth ave French dip, lunch for breakfast :D .Our order was brought out shortly after our coffees and they noth looked and smelled amazing, I can't comment on the French toast bites because i didnt try them but my girlfriend couldn't stop eating them. So I'll take that as an indicator or their quality and delectability. My French dip was served on a nicely toasted ciabata roll with garlic butter and what tasted like parsley. The perfect vessel for a moist roast beef topped with a creamy cheese. The hint of garlic on the toasted roll compliments the roast beef in the most perfect of ways. Now the fun part, the dip! The red wine au jus was velvety and perfectly salty to cut through the creamy cheese and the toasted ciabata holds up so well even after dipped. The French fries are good, just that, not amazing, not bad, in my opinion they could use just a bit more time in the fryer for a little bit more texter. This was a great French dip and I only had to travel 6 minutes to get it and i would travel much more than that to...
