The new store is nice, clean and organized. And they have a plentiful selection. (We will see how long that lasts) That being said, that’s where the pros end unfortunately. Seems the last few weeks savers has been changing up their prices on many of the items and it seems to have followed into this new location - Kids Books which were once $1.29 each no matter how big or small, paperback or hardcover are now priced at $1.49 - $4.99. VHS Tapes which were once priced at .99¢-$1.99 now $1.99-$3.49. Bric-a-brac is plentiful but if it’s anything that even looks to be valuable or vintage is marked up the wazoo. Artwork used to be $5-$10 now $8-$20…you get my point, prices have gotten higher which makes me sad because they got this stuff for free. The parking lot is also small - I’m curious to see how it will be on senior Tuesdays as every Savers on senior Tuesdays is absolutely packed and hardly any parking. The employees were friendly which is better than some of the other Savers I’ve been to. I was extremely excited for this location when I first heard about it, but my first impressions this morning were disappointing. We will see what happens - if it’s meant to stay open it will stay open. If it’s not meant to be it will close. I know several residents who were not too fond of a thrift store being put into West Islip. I do have news for Savers though - not every person who shops there is a reseller. Some people have collections and they go thrifting to feed their collections. Some people are tight on money just wanting to be able to afford something nice that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to. Pricing something comparable or even higher then regular retail shops just makes me feel sad and angry. I’d be better off going to a regular retail store. And shame on the managers who are...
Read moreSo excited that we have a Savers closer to us now (Babylon area) All the others are kind of far. Store is a bit smaller but they had lots to look thru. The place was very neat and very well lit. A little bit of everything. It looks like they have a designated area for drivers up donations as well as a large bucket for in store drop offs. If you sign up on your phone for texts they will tell you about special deal days and coupons which make the deals even better. Staff is helpful at checkout and they have the self checkouts.
My daughter got a mouse and keyboard still new in box & a box full of hair curlers also new in box. We will definitely be...
Read moreI went there to shop and see if there were any good deals on kids shoes and clothing. Unfortunately, everything is marked up and not worth it. I left and went to Marshall's and was able to shop for my kids. Shame on a thrift store who gets items for free marking everything up for their own personal gain. It's not all about resellers, there are real people who look for good deals for their...
