Paul Effman Music — Local services in Town of La Grange

I’ve been using Paul Effman music for my kids instrument rentals for 6 years. They are fantastic! Renting an instrument on their website is super easy and convenient. Their staff is also very friendly and helpful when I have called or gone in to the store. Most recently, my daughter signed up for percussion in school. The staff at Paul Effman advised me that they also have gently used bell kits that we can purchase for nearly the same price as renting for the year-so we now own a Bell Kit!

I also bought a guitar at a garage sale recently. I brought the guitar in to Paul Effman Music and had it re-strung and fixed up just like new and very affordable.

Justin and the staff have been great to work with throughout the years. Highly recommend them Paul Effman Music!

I can somewhat agree with the good reviews of the instruments (more on that later), but their lessons are AWFUL! My daughter was very interested in learning violin, but signing up for lessons with Paul Effman through her school led her to lose interest as she spent months doing nothing but plucking the strings, which were constantly breaking (giving her a convenient excuse to not practice at home). This got worse when in-person learning stopped, as we could see that her online lessons were nothing but plucking one or two strings over and over. We WILL be demanding a full refund for her lessons, as this company wasted a year of prime...

Brought a used Yamaha trumpet that was handed down from a relative to Effman Music. My nephew was going to use for his introduction to band, but school band instructor told us to get it serviced because he wasn’t sure it was going to work ....... They serviced and cleaned up the trumpet, and it looked like new. School instructor was amazed with how it looked and played !! Nephew loves band and is going to be looking for an upgrade soon !
