We discovered Madeline Island thanks to a local recommendation, and we’re so glad we did! Originally, we planned to take the Apostle Islands Cruise Line, but we decided to add a half-day trip to the island. The fee for taking our vehicle on the Madeline Ferry was incredibly reasonable, so we opted to drive on. It was fantastic to have our truck with us, as it allowed us to explore the whole island at our own pace. For two adults, two kids, and our vehicle, the round trip cost us only $80—such a great deal!

The ferry ride was a quiet short, taking less than 30 minutes. The crew was impressively fast and efficient, making the loading and unloading process smooth and hassle-free. We drove our vehicle on and off the ferry. It was a wonderful experience, and we’re so glad we...

You are not able to make reservations for the ferry. There is a small ticket booth in the harbor parking lot where the attendants are very helpful. We walked on board, however the boat was at capacity for vehicles when we left the dock. The people parking the cars on the ferry were professional and efficient. The fact that this ferry loaded down with vehicles ranging from motorcycles to delivery trucks is a feat of science I may never understand! We sat on the outside deck, but had the option to sit inside as well. It is a short 20 minute ride and you can see the other islands off in the distance...

The Ferry employees were BEYOND friendly, as well as the boat being very clean and organized. You have a couple particular employees, that helped me out in a frantic situation. Please consider giving the two employees ( they will know who they are if they read this ) a hefty pay increase for helping me get to my wedding in a timely manner. As a business owner myself, I understand that good help is so hard to find, and these two are the embodiment of that. I will definitely be using the ferry again when in the...

The convenience of being able to take your vehicle to the island is fantastic. The trip is short, the views are spectacular, and the process is extremely easy both ways. It was a delightful experience.
