Who knew a bra should be comfortable? I am 71 years old, petite and short waisted. This is the first time that not only do my sweaters and shirts look good, but my ribs don’t hurt and I am not constantly readjusting my straps. After one look at me, Laura told me that I am wearing the wrong bra size. Although I have been fitted at stores, they did not have the large inventory of varying sizes that Laura has. I cannot say enough positive things about Laura! What a gem. I brought my teenaged daughter to Laura for general guidance about bras, a fitting and personal shopping service. My daughter was initially a bit resistant to this whole concept, worried it would be “super awkward.” Laura could not have been more welcoming and wonderful, putting my daughter at ease immediately with her open smile, warm demeanor and practical, matter-of-fact approach to bras. The measuring process included a privacy screen for modesty.

After the measurements were confirmed, we decided to engage Laura to work her magic as a personal shopper, for which she charged a reasonable fee. She asked my daughter some lifestyle questions, such as what kinds of clothes she likes to wear and what kinds of exercise she does. About a week later Laura presented us with a terrific assortment of bras to try on, both from familiar-to-us brands (Warner’s, Maidenform, Champion) and sources we weren’t aware of but now love, such as Bra Bar and Harper Wilde. She offered options in a variety of styles, materials, colors and price points. In the end, with her help we were able to put together a just-right ‘starter wardrobe’ of 7 bras to wear under 'nice' clothes, under casual/hangout clothes and for exercise. I had a really wonderful experience with Laura at Fit by Burke! After having a baby, I had no idea what my bra size was, so I decided to book a fitting. I was a little nervous going into it, but Laura was so friendly and really put me at ease. I learned a lot from her about how a bra should fit, and what types of bras I should be looking for.
