Food was absolutely amazing. If I can give the food a 5/5 I definitely would. But our services at the end was not good. I ordered a hot latte and our server brought a cold one. I was not upset about that because for the simple fact that we’re human and mistakes happen and also noticed it got pretty busy/hectic during the time our food arrived. When our server came back I told her hey I asked for a hot latte not a cold one can I please receive that instead and in a to go cup please , (in the nicest tone as possible to ensure her I was not upset). I then asked her for it to be in a to go cup because our food was already done. When our food & drinks initially arrived we did not have our server come by to see if we wanted anything else but still we were u see understanding to the fact that the restaurant was busy. When our bill came, my friend who was putting it on her card looked over at me & said “do you have cash for tip” I said “yes don’t worry” so OBVIOUSLY that means we have to select the “no tip option” in the credit card machine. Mind you during this whole time I still did not get my drink. Our bill was about $216 with taxes and gratuity was again not included.. We all decided to provide her a 15% tip off the subtotal which is what we usually use (the subtotal) to calculate how much to give which was $30. We usually like to do cash tips because if we put it on the card she won’t receive payment till way later on & just prefer to give tip out in cash. We all then walked over to the front where they make the coffees/drinks and wanted to give the woman her cash tip In hand because we’ve seen too many crazy scenarios where people steal other people’s tips right off the table. We wanted to give it to her but she did not walk up to us. We gave her the tip and asked where the latte was. She pointed at a random coffee cup that was sitting on the table and said oh here it is and did not hand it to me.m just left it on the table where it was sitting at. She just left it on the table and I was “Wait, excuse me we have something for you” and gave her the tip. To be very honest, if she did say thank you she might have mumbled it, but I don’t recall it. As we were walking out, I’m not sure if the young man was the manager, but he asked my friend who put the bill on her card: “Excuse me are you the one that covered the bill?” She said “yes why what happened?” he said “was there something wrong with the Service?” To then she said “no why?” and he said “well because you did not leave her a tip” and she said “well we gave her a cash tip” and he did not say anything after that. No apologies nothing. Sure enough when she first got the receipt and saw we selected the “no tip” option she might have complained but our service was not even finished for us to properly give her the cash. We all found it highly unprofessional for them to approach us for a tip when we were not even given the opportunity to. It was our friends birthday and we were all trying to have a good family breakfast outdoors and came across this upsetting situation at the end. I believe our servers name was Cassandra because that is what it says on the receipt. Just a word of advise, please give people the opportunity to fully close out their bill and thank you for your service. You saw us sitting there for a good 10 minutes patiently after charging the card but didn’t give us the same grace with the tip like we gave you with...
Read moreI’ve been to Bluestone Lane several times now, and it has never disappointed me. Although they have standout coffee and excellent service, their food is also top-notch. I find it difficult to write a bad review about this place. To speak about the individual qualities,
Food: The food here is incredible. The menu has something for everyone (and has recently expanded!). Whether you’re craving a big breakfast or a light lunch there will definitely be an option available. A common concern I see is in relation to the price. However, it is not over the top and definitely worth the money. I could compare the prices to a more expensive bagel shop. However, Bluestone has a variety of different breakfast and lunch options all of which use fresh ingredients. Seriously, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Coffee: Bluestone is known for its coffee, and it makes sense. Even when I don’t have time for food I go there for the coffee alone. Their baristas definitely know what they’re doing, and they have some truly interesting (and tasty) varieties. Whether you're into espresso, lattes, or something unique, they’ve got you covered. The baristas themselves are all incredibly friendly and helpful, willing to take any issues customers have had into account. Not something I really see at other places, let alone chains.
Service: What is most impressive for me, though, is the service. From the second you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly faces. The staff is super attentive and really know their menu. They’re always ready with great recommendations and make sure you have everything you need without being overbearing. Any issues customers have are efficiently and professionally resolved. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. They’re happy to tweak your order to fit your needs. It’s clear that making customers happy is their top priority. I want to specifically highlight the exceptional service of the Larchmont branch manager; she truly goes...
Read morePossibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. I ordered a blackened chicken salad. Several elements of the salad were left out and the amount of chicken in the salad was incredibly tiny and burnt. The wait staff was completely incapable of comprehending, let alone dealing with this, and had to bring in the manager. The manger was the rudest person I have ever encountered. Her take on the situation was that since this was a new menu for the kitchen, I should just deal with it. She basically called me a liar regarding the amount of chicken in the salad - although she did let slip that it was the end of the batch. So, clearly, instead of informing me that they had run of out blackened chicken and offering something else, the kitchen just scrapped up the last gristly bits and served me that. The manager made no effort to rectify the situation. In fact, her only concern was to refute everything I said. Her ill-mannered, confrontational attitude truly left me speechless. There are a lot of very fine places to eat in Larchmont, go to one of...
