We were in town to take on the epic Winman MTB trails. It was fantastic until it wasn’t. I had to visit the MMC emergency room. I have worked in and now with hospitals all over the country
The team was excellent! Check in was smooth and expedited. Becky took great images. Dr. Radtke was excellent with a great bedside manner. My situation was not cut and dry for the most part being “routine “ ortho/muscular skeletal.
My only complaint: (not related to my direct care). Being a new patient to Marshfield clinic, I needed to set up an account to access my information, reports, films, etc. Well, you need a pin. That pin is sent via snail mail. the event happened on Friday afternoon. I ended my trip abruptly to return home for a surgical consult on Monday morning. Meaning I didn’t have access to the information pertaining to my injury to present during my consult. Discovering this, after I left, i called the main desk on Saturday. They told me it wasn’t possible to physically sign a release consent due to staffing on the weekend. Really?
On our way out of town we stopped in to make a face to face request (I know. Old school). They made it happen and I got my films in short order. Dr. Radtky personally cam out to check on my status. You don’t see that much. It’s the definition of “personal touch”.
Off we went with the report and films. The rest is confidential information.
Bottom line, this was a great experience.
Hot tip and side note: try to stay upright while biking....
Read moreA little over two weeks ago I had outpatient surgery at the Marshfield Hospital in Minocqua and, genuinely, it was an outstanding experience. During every part of the process I was treated with caring and respect; I was treated as a person, not a number. Leslie and Margaret in pre-op were wonderful with all interactions, keeping me informed and ensuring I was comfortable. Dr. Boyer and her surgical team were simply great with both the work performed and how they supported me. And in post-op recovery, Courtney could not have been more supportive with me and my family.
I have had several surgeries throughout my life, most in the Chicago area. The treatment I received at Marshfield far exceeded any experience I had in Chicago. I am very grateful we have these people in Minocqua ...a sincere thank you to...
Read moreI moved to the Minocqua area about a year ago, and this was my first time in a hospital in many years. I was a little nervous, especially since it’s a smaller local hospital, but Marshfield Medical Center in Minocqua completely exceeded my expectations. Everyone I interacted with, from the front desk to the nurses and doctors, was kind, professional, and made me feel at ease. They took the time to explain everything clearly and genuinely listened, which meant a lot to me. The hospital is clean, modern, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I feel truly lucky to have such a wonderful facility nearby. Thank you to the entire team for turning what could have been a stressful experience into something so positive...
