I have seen two different doctors in the Minocqua clinic and both times were very unpleasant. Both doctors I saw were so unprofessional. The first time I went, I could hear the tech and doctor (through the very thin walls) laughing about something I had asked them about. The doctor was curt and acted like he was very inconvenienced by me (the appointment was just a physical and lasted less than 5 minutes). The second time I went, I asked for a different doctor hoping for a better experience, but this doctor was equally as unprofessional. She didn’t take any of my concerns seriously and seemed like she had already made up her mind about my symptoms before walking in the room. She laughed at me when I told her I had gotten the COVID vaccine (my appointment was about long COVID symptoms) and went off about something else. I didn’t realize how bad those experiences were until I moved and started going to a different clinic where the practitioners are outstanding, kind, and take time for their patients. Before moving, I switched to a different clinic in the area and had a MUCH better experience there as well. I understand that practitioners are/were burnt out during the...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would. We were in the area visiting family from out of town. We used MMC Walk-In Clinic in Minocqua for both kids for ear an ache and bad cough. The physician was nice enough and saw both of my kids in the same room at the same time for a total of 5 minutes. No Rx prescribed, all OTC recos. That's fine, but when we got home we received two bills, each for $550. These visits were billed as Emergency Room, not walk-in clinic visits. Since the clinic is attached to the hospital it's considered ER. I called MMC and they said that's just the way it is. I said I wasn't paying over a $1k for a 5 min visit to a walk-in clinic when my insurance covers such a visit. Their response was if we didn't they'll just end up in collection. What a racket, probably fraud, and absolutely horrible customer service. So instead of paying a $25 deductible for each visit, I'm paying over a $1000 dollars because ER falls under having to satisfy my family deductible first. I suggest you find an alternative to this place, any...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful! Dr. Gabert is the best doctor around. He is not a pill pusher like some doctors are. He understands and respects my decisions to use some natural treatments for health issues. He explains everything in normal terms, not “doctor language”. In this day and age, you need a doctor that you trust, and I trust him!
All of the other doctors that I have seen have been great as well. I have seen people in several departments including: audiology, optometry, orthopedics, general surgery plus urgent care and the emergency room.
I have never had a bad experience (other than being told of my “not so good” health issues.) Never had a problem scheduling or changing appointments. If I can’t schedule an appointment when I want with the doctor I want, they usually suggest another doctor.
I am from Rhinelander, and choose to go to Minocqua because the doctors in Rhinelander are horrible! I have a lot of horror stories from when I used to go to Rhinelander! But that’s a different...
