After a busy day of bicycling and golfing, we stopped in for dinner at El Tarasco before heading back to our condominium. We have always enjoyed authentic Mexican food, and El Tarasco did not disappoint. For the atmosphere, the place was clean, well lit, and the background noise and music quite low which made for easily understood talking between my wife and I. The service by the young lady and young man were exemplary, quick and to the point. Finally, the food, which made the night for us memorable. My wife ordered the carne asada, beef tips in soft shells and I ordered the lemon lime chicken in cheeses sauce with rice and beans. We have been in Mexico several times (Hermosillo area) and have had these items home cooked for us. The carne asada was very tender and flavorful, among the best she has ever tasted! For me the lemon lime chicken on my first bite literally exploded in my mouth! Not spicy, a great citrus taste and tender chicken with the cheese sauce taste. Both of our side dishes of rice and beans were as authentic as we have had in Mexico. The portions were also very generous, so we will enjoy a second meal from this, too! Keep up...

Service is great most of the time... quick and attentive. My go-to are their fajitas (mixed or shrimp), chori pollo, and pollo encremado. The fajitas for one could most likely feed two, depending on how hungry y'all are... they have a good flavor and I love the fajita char on the meat and veggies that comes with cooking with cast-iron (the fajita signature). The chori pollo is chorizo and slices of chicken smothered in cheese... if you're not a fan of chorizo but like mexican cheese sauce and chicken, try the encremado. We gave the molcajete special a try and it was great... definitely good for two people to share. The margaritas come in different sizes and I believe they have good specials on Mondays for them. Overall, good service and great prices. A good choice for Mexican American food, given the fact its so far North of the border. My only complaint I guess is the fee for paying with credit/debit cards, it's pretty high, and is included regardless of how much you spend. So, if you can, pay...

This was our first time stopping here after many or previous trips through Hurley and Ironwood. My wife and I Should've known better because the Minocqua restaurant isn't any better.First off the environment, the seating and such was pretty good. What caught my eye was the open kitchen concept.. I can relate to such thing being in a similar instant as a prior chef. The second thing I noticed was no one was wearing gloves in kitchen handling food! I witnessed one of the guys reaching in grabbing my lettuce for my plate then wiping his hand on a blue rag and the proceeding to grab something else for my plate without a glove still wiping everything on this blue rag. My wife calmed me down to not say anything at that time but I believe he should be wearing gloves, Also there is no seasoning to anything plus our food was luke warm at best.. We will not be returning to...

Our first time here. I felt confident based on all the positive reviews made that we wouldn't be disappointed! We were very happy with the spacious parking lot, the quick seating and the attention we received from our servers. The dining room started to fill up shortly after we had been seated and placed our order. We came on a Saturday, early evening. Complimentary chips and flavorful salsa was brought to our table immediately as were our menus and beverages. It felt like we were in Cancun with the decorative atmosphere and the cheerful music playing. We ordered three beef enchiladas, shredded chimichango combination platter and a two beef enchiladas meal. Everything was delicious. Generous portions. We left full, happy and will definitely put this restaurant on our rotation of dining out options.

Service is quick & staff is friendly. The salsa has gotten better and it is a little smoky (adobo?) flavor, which I really like. Margaritas are good and strong and the food is always served nice and hot. GF options available such as the ranchero sauce and green salsa. I love the chilaquillas! The burritos are huge! My husband (who loves his food) always has left overs. Music is a little too loud at times, so it can be hard to have a conversation in the bar area or at tables in the middle of the room. I'm sure they would turn it down if asked.
