I called Kurtz to replace a defective fireplace burner assembly that was causing the flame to be too big. I even provided a replacement part number. The tech that was sent out (weeks later) arrived without the part...didnt even mention it. Just tore into the fireplace and removed EVERYTHING! Cleaned it all up and put it back together. He did not say much but did a nice job. When he left, the flame was still just as high, and now, the base (refractory) panel has a large crack. He even tried to hide the crack with one of the fireplace accessories. My first email to Karen at Kurtz was replied with a message that she would look into it. Nothing. Crickets. Called and left several messages and sent numerous emails to Karen (with read receipts) with the replacement part number. Still nothing. Once they got their money they were done with me.
