This is a wonderful little wonderland! It’s sort of like a visual prelude to the mighty gorge and the adjacent Shequaga falls in Montour also. The mini rumbling of Aunt Sarah’s Falls is a lovable echo of life and summer vibrancy in the region. Hearing the faint urgency of the falls and being in the thick of the trails leading up to it, is a really great experience with nature at her finest. The bird calls are many and the trail/pathway is mostly an easy trek. Just be mindful not to snag a foot on a large branch aground or stumble on the narrowing path to the highway. Please be mindful of the highway also, as it’s quite busy at times and certainly poses risks if you’re out on foot. Ultimately, it’s a great adventure here! It’s a fun little discovery if you walk the Catherine Valley Trail and just want a quick view, or if you simply want to go “fall hopping”! Either way, it’s truly rewarding and preciously preserved and maintained by God for your enjoyment, so...

Read moreAunt Sarah's Falls is another tall roadside waterfall in the village of Montour Falls. We made a quick stop on our way to Watkins Glen. The water flow is not as high as nearby She-Qua-Ga Falls and it's certainly not as impressive, but worth a stop. There is a small parking area on the right side of NY-14 (if going north) and the waterfall is right across the street. It's a busy street so use caution crossing. The waterfall starts as a free fall, then cascades that fan out and a final free fall. In high water, I imagine it would be quite impressive, so try to visit...
