Absolutely, perfect balance of hipster, crunchy, eco-friendly, artsy, intellectual, friendly, hippie, old school, new school, just very, very perfectly balanced, and not too hard to be one thing we’re pushing too hard in any one way. That goes for the decor, the vibe, the feng shui, the inventory/product offerings – – everything about this place feels so cozy but also makes YOU feel cool and trendy but also like you’re at home and grateful to not be at a corporation like Starbucks I know it would defeat the purpose if we had an NNY at my warehouse everywhere, but I wish I could go three hours back home And have this here too,. It is so special, and the workers/owners and all of their partners who carry products here should feel proud and lucky. There are a lot of coffee shops in the finger lakes. And a lot of their clientele are insufferable, snobby, and loud, just impossible to be around – – and that’s because the atmosphere has been curated to make them feel like they are entitled to be obnoxious, but this place is where real humans go to be reminded of real humanity. I know this is a little poetic for a café review? But between the local R, the farm – to table, local food, the chessboard, set up for anyone to use the vintage clothes at extremely accessible pricing, all selected with excellent taste… This place is a gem I would put it up against any café or boutique in Brooklyn or Ithaca That I’ve been to that are way haughtier and out of touch, where is North New York at montour house is worth the drive for me to come back to a place that feels genuine, authentic, real, accepting, and also like it just wants to be what it is “a café and shop supporting local small business owners that gives folks a quiet, comfy, place to unwind, where you don’t have to be the loudest or most performative person in the room.…(I’m looking at you, give me on Cascadilla in Fall Creek, and Recess in Wescott...
Read moreWhat a great experience. First I had a toasted sesame bagel with organic butter. I must say that I’m a bit of a bagel snob and I’m quite picky about what makes a good bagel. Well, I must say, this one was great and I paired it with a really good cup of coffee with their own blended half & half. Everything was great and I only wish I lived closer so that I could frequent this shop.
Second, they are a dog friendly establishment and they were very welcoming to my little pooch. I travel with my dog and it’s always a pleasure to come across places that are dog friendly.
Last and far from least was the friendliness of the owners. I believe it was father and daughter but I’m not sure and I wish I’d have asked. They were so very kind and truly listened to my story and did so with a keen interest making me feel very appreciated and welcomed.
If you are looking for a great place to grab your morning brew and a breakfast treat, this is the place to stop. You will not be disappointed. I’ll certainly stop here again when my travels bring me anywhere close to their...
