If you live in town, then you may have had some mixed feelings about this place over the years.
Here's the thing you need to know now though - My Market, as of this writing, is SO back, baby.
I popped in for a single item, was greeted very warmly by the new owner (who was behind the register) and I ended up wandering through the whole store. It's SO stocked, shelves absolutely filled to the brims with stuff - very enticing.
"Enticing" feels strange for me to say in reference to My Market, because I basically swore the place off after bad past experiences being sold spoiled food. But now? I actually considered buying some of their (fresh!!!) produce.
So yeah, this isn't your typical convenience mart - this is def more of a (not so) hidden gem.
It's got a great selection of goods, including some things that you might not always be able to find at other (bigger) grocery stores, which is awesome. Something particularly standout was the huge bags of spices / spice blends in the one aisle, some of which are surprisingly hard to find elsewhere. They've got plenty of specialty goods and kitchen staples. It's big enough to have a little bit of everything.
If you don't know what to cook for dinner, My Market has everything you would need to cook a wide variety of things, and at a decent/reasonable price, too. You just need to wander around and let yourself be inspired. :)
The new owner is also very kind, and is genuinely working so hard to get this place back to its glory days - if anyone can do it, I think it's him.
He mentioned being open to suggestions / feedback, so don't be afraid to say hi and have a chat! Happy...
Read moreA friend gave me a tip: try the homemade Indian food at My Market. I thought, great Indian food at a convenience store? How can that be? Well... it is FANTASTIC! The store itself has a nice mixture of gourmet and everyday items at fair prices, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Make a beeline for the cooler in the back and you'll find the home cooked food - we brought home saag paneer and butter chicken but there were at least 6 other choices today, including a vegan dish that looked delicious. You can of course cook a little rice or toast some store-bought naan at home for an easy side. Meal prices are in the $12-16 range for a truly rich, generous portion. My husband and I will easily get two meals and a snack out of the ones we bought. Highly...

I got the BumbleBerry pie that is made of different berries like blueberry, strawberry, apple etc. and taste was so so good. I wish i bought each pie so i can taste each one of them. Also the Belvoir ginger beer was a favorite. We also got some yummmy icecream.
I felt like i was in a candy store except it was a grocery. I cant stop myself my buying lots of good stuff. This is like a Trader Joe’s of New Paltz!
They have parking and the staffs were amazing. Super accommodating, smilling and friendly! I highly...
