We moved to the Hudson Valley from Chicago last summer. 4 antique pieces of furniture were damaged in the process. Two required extensive re-caning. The third was a child’s rocker on which the rocker had snapped off along with parts of the attached legs. The 4th was a delicate, inlaid side table, the front leg of which had broken off. I did a Google search for antique/furniture repair professionals and Naomi’s name popped up along with a number of positive reviews. We spoke over the phone and I sent her photos of the damaged furniture from which she promptly prepared an estimate and offered a timetable for repair. We have been extremely pleased with the results of Naomi’s work and can’t even tell where the original damage was. In addition to caning 2 different chairs, she also took it upon herself to re-glue and add additional support to several loose joints and cleaned and oiled all 4 pieces at no additional charge. We found her fees to be reasonable given the quality of her work. She clearly loves what she does and because she is so good at it, she does have a waiting list so recommend that you contact her sooner vs. later if you need something repaired. She also adhered to her timing estimates in terms of when she could do the work and how long it would take - unusual in this day and age of cost and schedule overruns. Highly...
Read moreNaomi, the Furniture Fixitor, made our old Lane coffee table look as good as new! We bought it off craigslist and it was in terrible shape. A huge burn stain on the top, loose legs, the finish was in terrible shape. She brought it back to looking amazing. The burn stain, which I had accepted would always be there, was almost imperceptible. The finish looks stunning now, and it’s solid feeling. Also since we have kids and guests she suggested a new finish that would be more durable while not taking away from the vintage feel of the piece. A+! And her prices were very reasonable considering the amazing quality of...
Read moreMy great-grandmother's basket weave chairs had seen better days to say the least. Alright, I admit 2 of them completely broke through. It's amazing no one got hurt. I was nervous about getting them repaired and considered tossing them altogether. I didn't know how much it'd cost or if it was even possible. A Google search led me to this INCREDIBLE shop. She is friendly, professional, reasonably priced for the value and truly amazing craftsmanship. Her handiwork is beyond good. I would give more stars if I could. Definitely recommend. Will use again when the other chairs...
