This is one screen theatre in a restored 1920’s movie house. It’s a one of kind experience in a small town. They keep prices fair and kids rates affordable. They only accept cash, no credit/debit or checks. It’s a place you can go and watch a movie without having to worry too much about a crowd of people.
They also offer private birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays. For $300 flat rate, you can have the theatre to yourself and all of your guest and they will play the featured movie of the week or if you prefer a movie from a dvd/Blu-ray they have in stock. (They tend to alternate between kids and adult oriented films). The week we had our party was an adult week, and my daughter was not happy with the current options. The owner asked me to send a link to the Beauty and the Beast dvd my daughter wanted to watch to make sure he got the right one and he purchased it to add to their stock and so she could watch it at her party. They provide free popcorn refills and soft drinks to all guests. They set up gift tables and a place for you to put food (we ordered pizza from down the street and brought cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches).
The kids loved it. They started the movie when we asked them to (did not need to be seated at a certain time), and the kids were able to play before and after, running up and down the aisles and in the front of the theatre.
Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to see a movie in a relaxed location or who is looking for a unique birthday experience for...
Read moreThis is an old historic theater that is charming. Therefore, it doesn't have the luxury of a newly built place. But it's ok. You can go here, buy a ticket, a little something to eat and drink and not break your wallet to do so. You get to sit in a seat that is just fine, sit back and watch the featured film. I haven't been to a movie theater in so long, and now I've been to Star Theater 2 times in less than a month. If they have a movie you're...
Read moreSo many broken seats and roped off area because of falling sconces from the cealing. Milking it for what ever is left without putting back, Edger would be so upset. It was so amazing and now you can't even keep the projector running. We took a night off to visit this once great theater and was so disappointed and didn't even get to see the movie but we did get a free pass to travel there again if we can get a night off on the same night again, very...
