Bianca's Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center — Local services in Town of North Hempstead

My experience with the supervisor Kate was so horrible. All the other staff were very friendly and answered all questions. Kate seemed to have her mind made up as soon as she saw my husband & I. It’s so sad in 2022 people have to still deal with racism. She kept asking me questions to trap me as if this was a FBI interview. For example, She asked me would we be taking the cat outdoors and I said “I don’t believe cats even like to go outdoors I would not take them outdoors and I live in an apartment she said “but if you lived in a house would you let it go in the yard?” I’m so confused and say “no” she says “well it’s very dangerous to take a cat outdoors” it’s almost as if she was trying to force me to say I was taking it outdoors so she could say it’s wrong and when I didn’t fall for it she just said it anyway. She called my references asking them specifics about pets I had as a child. Why would my sister in law and friend know when my childhood cat died? Overall, I was denied because she said my information couldn’t be confirmed. I’m not sure what Kate’s problem is but I am very saddened by the fact a kitten is going without a loving home for the holidays because of racism and prejudice. Shame...

5 Weeks ago I adopted two 10 week old kittens, their names at the time were Milk(Grey) and Cookies(Black), from Bianca's Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center at North Shore Animal League. The application and adoption process was fairly easy, and the background check is very in Depth and Thorough. Go early to possibly be able to take home your furry companion the same day.

I found 2 kittens that I was interested in, since I was there late on Friday evening I was only able to fill out an application, and the Background check was done the next morning. By Saturday midday I got a call saying that I was approved to adopt.

The Manager Ellen and her staff were very courteous, friendly throughout the whole process, and they worked with me to give me time to come in and finish the paperwork and pickup the Kittens that I was interested in the previous night, before anyone else became interested in them.

I definitely recommend adopting from Bianca's Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center at North Shore Animal League if you are interested in one or more (Old or Young)...

I don’t write reviews often but I am trying to spare somebody the trouble of driving out of their way if they are in the Tristate area. This place racial profiled me and assumed I wasn’t capable of finically taking care of the beautiful cat I spent over 45 minutes filling out an application for. My boyfriend and I are first time cat owners and they looked at us as if we were incapable of taking care of him. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that I know personally being they might get asked to overly explain their living situation and how much they’re making...
