Spencerport Bowl — Local services in Town of Ogden

Disappointed. Called ahead. Told them what we needed and time. They guaranteed they would have that for us. Got there and they didn't have the lanes available. We had a couple kids bowling for the 1st time. We wanted bumpers for them and a lane for the adults next to them. They offered to give us a ramp because they didn't have bumpers available. The ramp never came. I complained because these kids were not having fun throwing it into a bumper every time. After I said something they opened a bumper lane. There was no customer service. We had pins missing or always down on the lanes. The balls would get stuck in between first and second shot. We were not impressed. Will go elsewhere in the future

EDIT: We wanted to give the first time bowlers with us a great time. We were also visiting from out of state with family. This was our choice to support local business. We asked for simple things like bumpers. Instead of accommodating or taking our recommendations to improve the experience, the owners decided to insult their customers. We were willing to accept that it was just one bad experience and think about giving it another shot, but the way the owners have treated our family, we would rather drive 20 minutes to go to any other bowling alley or pay the extra price to go to AMF which is closer to the house. Also to write that I shouldn't write reviews and should get a life... I work as a teacher and with children and families and kids in foster care (your main clientele) on a daily basis, so insulting someone who's life involves doing activities with potential clients for you, is not smart. I will send the people I work with in Rochester to other bowling alleys. And so will the rest of my family and everyone we know... Because we enjoy...

Funny how the owner insulted my brothers review. We are local down the street and WILL NOT EVER go to a place with such awful customer service. I will be passing the word around, so insult me all you want.

I was there with my 3 kids, my brother, wife and sister. He wanted to take my family out to go bowling as he was in town for a little while. My daughter went to a party there and had a good time so I recommend it to him over AMF down on spencerport rd. He called ahead and requested a lane with bumpers and one without. They claimed no problem it was dying down (I was there for the phone call). Long story short, customer service was awful. Shoes were extremely worn, balls weren't very kid friendly, food was awful (6 something for fries that were meh). This list goes on and on. The first two lanes we got the one lanes monitor didnt even work and we didnt get the one with bumpers and one without. We got two without and we didnt even get the so called ramp that they promised. After complaining they moved us to a bumper lane and half way through offered the second lane. At this point we were done with this place! Never again and we will pass this on.

updated in response to the "owner" 1/3/2019 FYI I Support local businesses hence why I went to the local bowling alley vs a chain. Also, I probably have more business experience and education then this owner. There is never a reason to insult your customers no matter how angry or unfair they think the cusromer is being. From the response this owner posts they need to take a little crash course in manners. Where to begin with this place.... Just bad. First we called researching a place to have our son's party. It was small nothing needing a room or tons of space. The guy who answered said they don't do reservations and would have plenty of time to have lanes on Sunday. Fast forward to the day we went there was greated with hey your here for a party? Oh well you will have to keep it under 2 hours. Kinda rude but understandable. The night went on 1.5 hrs into the night we were being circled like prey by all the people who run the place cleaning up and then being rushed out of there bc people are waiting. Well let's see not my problem when you said we can stay for 2 hours. Also not my problem when you don't take reservations and say it's first come first serve. We were first we got servered and we're not done being served. But since we were not making enough money for them they kicked us out. Right from the head lady's mouth kids parties don't make us any money... Well if that's the case get rid of your bumper lanes so it won't be any kids there... Also it's a bit unfair as there was another party there before us who wasn't asked to leave all bc they had older kids so they could make more money from them. Kinda sad to see they are money hungry have horrible customer service and does not put it's money back into the business. The ceiling was all water damaged tiles. The parking lot was pot hole central and the doors had cracks in the glass. Like come on... Needless to say 3 families won't be going back 2 of which are league bowlers crossing this place off the list. Sad to see family run business turn away business due to bad...
