Spencerport Hots — Restaurant in Town of Ogden

Edit: Decided to give Spencerport hots another try on 2/1/2017 (4 months since my previous review), and I was very very pleased. The same manager as I previously mentioned was very polite and pleasant. The quality of their food today was so much better! Kudos to the turn around!

It saddens me to have to write this review. This place had so much promise when it first opened. Yeah okay, the prices are a little on the high side, but that was never an issue until more recently, when the quality of food severely diminished. I used to brag to my co-workers about how clean of a plate they had. However, my last few visits subsequently resulted in an upset stomach. Even then, I would not have left a poor review. What triggered me to write this review was the fact that the Day time manager, and also part owner, has very poor customer service skills and his position within the company should be reevaluated. Perhaps he'd serve better as a non-customer...

We decided to try this place after some friends recommended it. The restaurant was nearly empty when we got there just before 5:30 on a Saturday night. A friendly girl at the counter took our orders and said she'd bring our food out when it was ready. The restaurant is reasonably large with a number of tables and several booths large enough to seat six - eight people. The menu features something like 24 burger variations, 18 different chicken sandwiches, and 24 variations of hot dogs, plus some steak plates, and an assortment of sides. Something for pretty much everyone. Our orders of a mushroom-swiss chicken sandwich, a hamburger with french fries, and beverages came out about 15 minutes later. On 8/13/2016 I called around 11:10 pm to pre-order some food as I was just leaving work. No one answers so I decide to stop in anyway, and I get there about 11:20 pm. As I pull into the parking lot, the two young employees notice me and immediately the male employee shakes his head at me and the female employee runs to the back and turns all the lights off. You have an hour left to be open for business and your employees are closing early and denying me service. Your website says you are open until midnight but I can't get service around 11 pm. You are a great advocate for your competitors, at least their doors are open during business hours. Don't expect to be in business long if you can't even be open when advertised, and I hope you don't mind your employees robbing you of an hour of pay for every night they close your...
