There were 5. I saw two waitresses working one had a shield over her face and the other woman had a face mask and was very rude. A table of eight, table of two, table of 4 table of one and a table of two getting ready to leave. We waited to be seated and was told we are cleaning off a table. The party had left before we arrived. The rude waitress told us rudely to sit anywhere and had no idea when we would be waited on. We should have left at that point but figured she must be overwhelmed. Figured she must have in door diners as well. That was not the case we find out later. We were there in plenty of time to order before the kitchen closed at 8. However; we felt we were not going to be waited on. There was also a limited menu that we never received or knew about. We were given the full menu. The waitress was so overwhelmed with her table of one and four and a shared table of 2. This waitress sent out the dishwasher to take our order. The waitress in charge came over to our table and rudely told us to order right away because the kitchen was closing. It took the dishwasher awhile to take our order only to find out from the rude waitress that what we ordered was not available that there was a limited menu that we never saw. The poor dishwasher was so nervous the waitress in charge was unbelievably rude and running around busy doing barely anything. The other diners were treated with respect and the waitress with the shield was a far better waitress and they were the same age probably in there 60’s. After everyone was gone we did not see our dishwasher again the very rude waitress is now taking over the table and is now playing nice. We spent over 100.00 and she was not getting the tip. We asked for our waitress/dishwasher back and the rude waitress refused and realized just how serious we were. We even said we would go inside and find her. She was sent out and we gave her a very handsome tip at 30%. Train the dishwasher to be a waitress and have the rude one as the dishwasher where she does not have any interaction with the public. Needless to say I will not be going back to the Bad Apple maybe just to visit the dishwasher. ...
Read moreMy second dining experience at Bad Apples Bistro It was Ginny's birthday and she chose the place. It was her third time dining there. There is no full bar service -only beer and wine are available.
We both had interesting salads. My $14 Vegan Capri salad was tasty but a bit pricey. Ginny's Beet and Apple salad at $9 was a relative bargain and should be touted as a Bistro signature salad.
My $17 Fish Fry was a relative bargain. The Haddock was encased in a crisp crunchy coating reminiscent of pre-breaded frozen fish that seemed oven-baked. The shoestring-cut Sweet Potato fries were an over-salted side. The Green Apple Slaw was interesting.
Ginny's $42 center-cut 8oz. Filet Mignon served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and charred asparagus, finished with Cabernet demi was good with one exception -It was way over-salted!
Along with our meals, Ginny had a $10 glass of wine, and I had an $8 The Kind India Pale Ale from Three Heads Brewery.
Ginny chose to sit on a bench-style seat that lined the west wall of the dining area. I sat opposite her on a spartan steel-legged padded chair. There was a tiny table between us. Overall the indoor dining facility is tiny and spartan.
When we arrived at 4 pm we had the place to ourselves and it remained so through the course of our dining experience. Still, there was a somewhat disturbing level of commotion from the proprietors and what seemed like their immediate family.
When we were seated I mentioned to our server that it was Ginny's Birthday. At the end of the meal, our server pleasantly surprised us by comping Ginny with a serving of Chocolate Lava cake that had a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream with a candle on top. The total bill with tax and...
Read moreOverall had a pleasant experience here today. For an appetizer, we ordered the duck poutine which was very delicious. The sweet potato fries were fresh and hot, the gravy and duck and cheese was all proportioned right and we didn’t feel skimped out at all! For food I got the burger. It is quite heavy so if you want something filling, look no further! Since I hate pickles I opted to get the pickle aioli on the side and instead have ketchup and mayo on the burger. The burger was very delicious and cooked perfectly to medium well. The jazz fries which come with it were also cooked and came out hot as well as they had a super delicious mixture of Parmesan and seasoning! The other thing we got as the apple beet salad. The salad was good, but we did have to return it. I would highly recommend getting the bacon oil sauce on the side as it makes the salad super oily and heavy. It just overpowered the flavor of the salad. We had to return it because it was just bad with it. But the next apple beet salad we got with no dressing on it and we opted to get the house made Caesar and house made honey balsamic on the side. The Caesar was good, but for this salad the honey balsamic was best! It really enhanced the flavor and overall it was a delicious salad with the chicken we got with it cooked to perfection! The waitresses were super nice and knowledgeable. They also serve beer and wine but do not serve liquor. Their wine menu is pretty average for a bistro like this and their beer selection is perfect for the...
