Golden Zari By Zainab — Local services in Town of Oyster Bay

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. I visited Golden Zari by Zainab last year while searching for a wedding dress for my last-minute wedding, which was only two months away. I was incredibly disappointed by the experience and the behavior of the owner, Zainab. From the moment my cousins and I walked into the boutique, we were met with unprofessionalism and rudeness.

Zainab barely acknowledged us, let alone made us feel welcome. When I asked questions about the dresses, her responses were dismissive and curt, as if we weren’t worth her time. She refused to let us take pictures of the dress I was interested in and didn’t even provide any useful information about it. The lack of customer service was appalling and left me feeling disrespected and undervalued.

To add insult to injury, I recently found out that Zainab treated my aunt with exceptional kindness and attentiveness while helping her find outfits for her son’s weddings. Clearly, this disparity in treatment stems from their personal friendship. It’s extremely disappointing to see customer service so blatantly influenced by personal connections. Everyone who walks into a boutique, regardless of who they know, deserves to be treated with the same level of respect and professionalism.

I wouldn’t recommend Golden Zari by Zainab to anyone who values good customer service and a pleasant shopping experience. The lack of respect and fair treatment makes it clear that this boutique doesn’t prioritize its customers equally....

I’m a reasonable man, but this place pushed me to the edge on a simple matter. We had placed an order for a wedding dress, with a $500 deposit. As things go sometimes, we decided against the dress. We went back and in person told them we did not want the dress. Before we could discuss any further, the lady (owners wife I assume) starts saying that she had already placed the order and that it was on its way. When in fact she had told us that she will place the order when we pay the rest of the money for the dress. Needless to say we had stated this to her, she chose to ignore this and started to shout in the store with customers there that we “MUST PAY NOW”. We asked them why they are being so hostile as we are not here to argue but rather come to a resolution. They did not want to hear it, they told us they won’t refund us. So while we are now walking out of the store they are still yelling at us to pay. I was appalled.

This place is quite literally a joke for a store with unprecedented levels of unprofessionalism that I have never ever experienced as a customer at ANY retail store. Not only that, when we walked in she did not approach us and ignored us until we had gone up to her. Both her and her husband there are deplorable. Do not go here, I am also making sure I report this business to the Better...

I never write reviews, but my experience here was so good that I have to. Amazing amazing boutique! And such nice owners. I needed an attire last minute for my brothers wedding, and I’m so glad I found this place. Their collection is stunning, such a good variety of heavy + light outfits (all very classy selection!!). This quality of work is not available in the US this easily. Also, the owner was so good at quickly tailoring to my size exactly as needed in my small time frame, and deliver on the day the shop was closed. So kind. I’m so grateful for this boutique. Even their artificial jewelry is classy. Not tacky like other Desi stores in Hicksville. I will buy all future partywear clothes only from here. Lastly, Despite how good their stuff is, they’re the BEST priced in this whole area. Finally a boutique that has classy, good quality clothes, at a good cost. Surrounding boutiques are selling absolute garbage for hundreds of dollars (rip off and waste of money). Don’t waste your time. just go to golden...
