Editing yet again
For probably the 5th or 6th time the Deli service for online ordering gave me a big middle finger. I order a pound and a half of thin sliced cheese. The cheese is cut so thick they are half the height of my cell phone. Disgusting lazy behavior for an expensive product you pay a premium for to be sliced to order. I have $12 worth of cheese that is useless because no one in my household eats hunks of cheese. I let it go the first couple times- but it's obvious the deli manager just doesn't care at all. I've worked in a deli- I know this is nothing more than laziness.
Several times in the last 2 months we have waited over 30 minutes for a curbside pickup order- once over 45 minutes because the automated system didn't actually alert the store we were there even though we got the notification it had.
Editing this review down to 2 stars after recent experiences.
With no communication Stop and shop has stopped price matching for substituted items. They have also stopped sending email confirmations. Lists of out of stock items that weren't fulfilled aren't sent until halfway through the pickup window. Pickup the last two times has taken over 15 minutes as well. No longer worth using pickup here which means it is no longer worth shopping here for us.

It's a convenient service but stop and shop consistently does not send an order summary so I pick up groceries not knowing if I have everything I need. I shouldn't have to get out of the car and search through bags for a receipt to find out if I got all my groceries. Frequently find things I've asked to be substituted if out of stock are just not filled...
   Read moreMy entire life, I’ve just always went to ShopRite. I’m guessing because that’s where my parents went. Great childhood memories came from ShopRite. Getting pushed in the cart/ eating animal crackers/ the overwhelming joy when mom put ice cream in the cart. Anyways, I went to stop and shop for the first time yesterday. I couldn’t believe me eyes… shelves were stocked to the brim. Every other isle had an employee stocking/ floors were clean/ great music playing/ actually smelt like someone was baking cookies… produce was fresh. I saw two managers walking around the store. Usually the managers are no where to be found in ShopRite or an employee for that matter. I couldn’t find a product, so I asked a associate that was stocking and instead of saying “it’s in produce”.. the associate got up and walked to the other end of the store to show me. This happened twice. I think I found my new supermarket. Great job. Today was the re grand opening of that location so I’m not sure if this is an every day thing or to make the store look good for this weekend. They had a ton...
   Read moreThe deli at the Stop & Shop on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie is the slowest Deli the men are really nice but they're so super super slow unless it's your day off do not go there to get cold cuts... I was behind one person and it took 20 minutes the staff at the courtesy desk is really nice except for one lady she's an older lady with gray hair I asked her if they take bill payments and at first she said no and I questioned that then she turned around and told me while she doesn't know how to do it so I can't pay a bill I asked her then is there someone here that can do it and she said the manager is there but she doesn't know how to do it either I then ask to speak to the manager after a few more words were exchanged that weren't very nice and the manager apologized said she was sorry for her actions and not only did help me pay the bill but also then gave me a $25 gift card for my troubles...
