Our family went to Eye-Magination for glasses for many years between appx. 2006 and 2015. The service and quality used to be good, but we've had bad experiences the last two times we went. When I got my last pair of progressives about two years ago, they were made incorrectly and I needed to remove my glasses in order to read (unlike with prior pairs of progressives). As a result, I lost those glasses when I removed them on the train to read and accidentally got off without them. So I went to Eye-Magination in September for a new exam and ordered a new pair of glasses. After I hadn't heard from them for three weeks, I called the store to find out that the frames I ordered were no longer available, but no one had bothered to check that when I ordered them or, more importantly, call to tell me that for three weeks, and I had to call them to find out. Then I went back to the store (a half-hour drive for me) to choose new frames and reorder the glasses. Again, after not hearing anything for almost three weeks, I called to find out that the glasses had been ready for several days, yet no one had called to let me know. After I picked up the glasses and wore them for a week or so, I realized that I wasn't able to read signs at a distance as well as I could with a 3 year old pair of glasses I still had. So I drove back to the store with the glasses and was told by Lou that the prescription had been written incorrectly for one of the lenses. He sent them back to the lab to be redone. Guess what? I never heard from them again until I called a few weeks later to inquire, and once again, found that the glasses were ready, but no one had called me. And when my wife went to pick them up -- a full 3 months after I had my exam and first ordered them -- Lou denied that any mistake had been made with the prescription or by the lab, telling her something about how "they took away the minuses" and that the problem had to do with aging. Really??? I don't know what's happened to Eye-Magination, but it's disappointing. It used to be a good store and every member of my family has gotten glasses there, with no problems in the earlier years. But this experience was ridiculous and extremely unprofessional, and we won't be...
Read moreI went to eyemagination a few years ago, and Lou worked with me to get a pair of glasses I liked. (I didn't care for my initial pair, and they redid them).
Fast-forward to a few months ago, where I ordered lenses for my "regular" frames, and a pair of computer glasses. Unfortunately, despite another redo, I still couldn't see well in the glasses, and was refunded most of my money back, minus $119.00. I was mailed a check because I had moved away, but wasn't told why I didn't get the full refund. (I'm going to assume it had something to do with the lenses, though it would have been nice to get an explanation along with the check). Despite that, I appreciate how eyemagination worked with me to resolve this issue to the best of their ability, and am grateful that they made an exception for me considering my circumstances. I discovered that they don't typically give refunds, so if you have a "special" high prescription like I do (which might have been an issue with the computer glasses), you may want to take that into consideration before you order anything like that from them. You DO have 30 days for any "redos", and they will gladly accomodate you. It's just that I had moved out of the County, and although I traveled back down for the redo and then had the glasses mailed to me, it still didn't work out. Edited: I honestly "sugar-coated" much of how I feel & want to elaborate on my last visit. The truth is, I wasted time and money, & for that I've dropped my initial rating. I was assured by Lou that he knew what he was doing when attempting the second redo on the computer glasses, and he was wrong. I never received another eye exam as promised, and he just went ahead, made calculations and ordered another pair. I was also told to take off my first review when I said absolutely nothing wrong, and that is deceitful.. so initially I was pleased with this place, but upon my last visit 2 years ago, not so much.. and I don't...
Read moreRead in full to save yourself the time, money and frustration of going to this place, who will only rip you off. I took my daughter for an eye exam, was told she needs glasses and to patch her right eye for an hour a day. After insurance coverage of the glasses and lenses spent $100 out of pocket. Got a second opinion from a pediatric opthamologist (should have done in the first place) and she said the original prescription from eye imagination was completely wrong, with her right eye needing a prescription which eye imagination didnt prescribe. She also needs the patch for 2 hours a day, since 1 hour a day wont do much for her. I went back to eye imagination to ask if they can fix their mistake and correct the lenses, and they said I would have to pay an additional $200 for their mistake. I took the frames to walmart to see how much the new lenses would cost and they said $40. I hate to see how places take advantage of people and rip them off, not to mention misdiagnosing an eye prescription and putting everyone through the difficulties of patching an eye for no reason. I didnt know any better at the time and feel taken advantage of, go to walmart for the prescriptions they are affordable, dont rip you off and...
