I wanted to give this place five stars, but unfortunately, after visiting three times, each experience was worse than the last. I understand they recently opened, and I know they mean well, but my review is intended to give people an honest idea of what to expect.
The first time I visited, I ordered a shawarma in a laffa and planned to dine in. However, I was told—rather rudely—that I couldn't sit and eat with a shawarma in a laffa and that I would need to order it on a plate instead. This didn’t make sense to me, as the price difference was minimal, but I really wanted the laffa. I felt embarrassed and decided to leave instead of arguing.
A few days later, I came back, determined to give them another chance. This time, I ordered a shawarma in a pita to go. While the pita was fresh and the salads were crisp, the flavoring of the shawarma itself wasn’t great. Additionally, they forgot to include my side salad, which I only found out later during my third visit was due to their lack of an efficient system for communicating orders to the chefs.
On my third visit, I ordered a falafel in a pita. It took me about 20 minutes just to place my order because no one was at the front counter. I asked the manager twice if I could order, and both times he responded, “One minute.” Seventeen minutes later, I was finally able to order. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing yet again—the salads inside my pita were incorrect, and the overall taste wasn’t what I expected.
While I appreciate that they’re new and still figuring things out, it’s going to be a while before I return. I hope that with time, they’ll improve their systems and offer a more...
Read moreOlympia Pita in Pomona is everything you’d want from a top-tier Mediterranean restaurant and more. Lunch here today was an absolute delight. The pitas were perfection—fresh, soft, and clearly baked in-house. They held up beautifully, even with the generous fillings, and elevated the entire meal. A restaurant of this caliber truly shines with its attention to detail, and the homemade pita bread is just one example.
The salads were incredible—bursting with vibrant flavors. The hummus was creamy and rich, with the perfect balance of garlic and lemon, the coleslaw was light and refreshing, and the red cabbage salad had just the right amount of tang. The tahini sauce was perfectly smooth and flavorful, tying all the elements together beautifully. But the real standout was the eggplant salad—it was perfectly roasted, seasoned to perfection, and packed with smoky, complex flavors.
A great shawarma pita should have layers of flavor, and this one delivered in spades. Each bite was a perfect harmony of textures and tastes, showcasing the skill and care that went into every ingredient. Overall, the restaurant isn’t just visually stunning—it’s backed by food that’s just as impressive. It’s clear why this place holds up to the Brooklyn location’s reputation. Amazing job, Olympia Pita...
Read moreFood was ok but a bit bland and pricey for the size of the food I got the burger entree and for my side I got mashed potatoes and onion rings the mashed potatoes were fine but could have used more salt and I only got small nuggets of onion rings although they were cooked very well. the burgers don't come with anything on them and the buns were cheap bleached white flour buns and the burger patties were over cooked there are also no sauces so I couldn't even make it taste better. I also had the wings 9.5-10 the reason there not a 10 is because they are on the smaller side even for wings but flavor for them was great HOWEVER I got REALLY sick that night because of the food most likely from the burger pattie. I did notice it looked purple but I chalked it up to me not being used to an overcooked burger. over all ok food, but very pricey and I'm most likely not coming back because of me getting sick...
