Box N Case stole money from me, provided terrible communication, and ignored my concerns. I wanted desperately to love this company. Iāve been drinking Kevita Kombucha for years and the supply in my area has been shrinking steadily for the past few years. Iāve done my research, so I know the original company was sold; some current products are shifting from glass to cans; and flavors are in flux. I was spending more and more time running to multiple local stores and finding fewer options. Naturally, I was thrilled to find a company that would ship these increasingly difficult to find items directly to me even though I am an individual, not a business. I was willing to pay a higher per item price, plus shipping, because it would save me time and headache. Sadly, I was wrong.
The first two months of my subscription were fine. My card on file was charged and, within a month of each charge, my items were delivered perfectly. The third month my card was charged as usual, but no product came. I waited patiently because I knew they couldnāt always get these items in stock immediately. Two days before my card was to be charged for order #4, I emailed asking about the status of order #3. I received no response to that email; however, two days later my card was charged for order #4. Four days after my email (and two days after my card was charged for order #4) they shipped order #3. Three bottles were damaged in that shipment. It was at this time that I realized the information online regarding order status and fulfillment is minimal and therefore, not extremely helpful.
Part of order #4 shipped only four days later, but 6 bottles were lost in transit. BNC doesnāt alert the customer that bottles are damaged in shipment. I had to look at the UPS tracking information to figure that out and the billing information doesnāt reflect credits issued. I became concerned that I wasnāt going to get credit for the products I never received because there was no record on the website. I called BNC customer service and spoke to someone who was sympathetic to my situation and promised to credit me for the damaged bottles.
Ultimately, I was charged for a complete order, but I only received ¼ of order #4. I called BNC customer service numerous times, and no one ever answered. I sent multiple emails outlining the issues with my account in a respectful manner. I sent other emails asking for confirmation that they had received my emails. Three days after I emailed them to officially cancel my subscription, I received my first email response from BNC. They offered to sell me all the Kevita products they had currently in stock for a 15% discount if I took it all off their hands. They did not apologize for poor communication. They did not mention the credits that I never received. I politely declined their offer and will warn anyone I can about their sub-standard...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have written, and removed, 2 previous reviews. The original ratings were 1 star. This is my latest review based on the (hopefully) final communication between BoxNCase and myself.
I had ordered a specific product from BoxNCase Merrideth Dairy Goat Cheese. What I received was a different product, similar, but different, Merrideth Dairy Sheep and Goat Cheese. Since this was a food item, according to their website, it was nonreturnable.
I attempted (mulitiple times) to contct BoxNCase about receiving the wrong items. Emails, phone calls and contact through their website went unaswered.
It was only after I wrote a 1 star review that my issue was recognized by BoxNCase. My review highlighted my numerous attempts and communication as well as a notation that I contested the charge with my credit card company. The "Business Owner" responded. The repsonse was not fact based, and contained falsehoods. (I did keep screen shots, so I do have receipts.)
A few days after the reviews, and responses, were posted I received a call from a BoxNCase employee. It was this employee, it was their demenor, and their professionalism that led me to remove my 1 star reviews and provide this updated 3 star review.
BoxNCase requested that I return the 6 items. They provided a shipping lable so I did return the items. Note: The business owner claimed that I had consumed all of the items and was trying to blackmail them into refunding my money. Of course he was totally wrong on that one because they received the 6 unopened items. Granted, the items are not suitable for consumption becuase they did not provide me with a means to return the items with refrigeration.
Nonetheless, issue resolved. Credit card company immediately refunded my money before BoxNCase ever contacted me (I am unaware how it was handled with BoxNCase) but because of my evidence I had no problem with my refund.
I will never do business with them again, even though I keep getting texts from my personal BoxNCase representative. I blocked the number after a few attempts to get me to purchase more items.
Reading the reviews it looks like things go well for most customers. But when they go wrong, it appears they really go wrong. IMO, it is the attitude of the Business Owner who responds to the reviews.
If the business makes a mistake, they should suck it up, make it right and move on. Not this business. Nope pass the blame on to the consumer. So, beware, be prepared, keep notes, screen shots so if you get burned, you can better protect...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit: This was my first and definitely my last experience with BoxNCase. I ordered three cases of figs and a case of Tic Tacs in early November, weeks before Thanksgiving. The Tic Tacs shipped quickly, but the figsāpriced at $56ānever showed up. When I contacted customer service, "Chad" informed me they were out of figs but expected more in a few days. Spoiler: "a few days" turned into endless waiting.
With Thanksgiving around the corner and no figs in sight, I asked Chad to cancel my order on November 19th. He assured me I'd get a refund in a few days. Three days? Nothing. Seven business days? Still nothing. By early December, weeks after my request, Chad emails me to say the figs are back in stock and asks if I want them. I didnāt respond (because, frankly, I was over it), yet two days later, they shipped the figs anyway, without my consent.
When the figs finally arrived, it was like the grand finale of this circus: moldy, disgusting, and completely unusable. How is this company even in business? BoxNCase is the poster child for bad service, unprofessionalism, and outright scamming. Save yourself the headache and avoid them like the moldy figs they send....
