Kitchen Depot — Local services in Town of Smithtown

Everything seemed very nice in the sales room. Decent selection, decent prices. I was sent here by a contractor who was doing the installation. For my own records, I wanted plans of all the cabinets. The owner said I could have them after payment (not a terrible idea, as I could’ve gone somewhere else?). After full payment, made multiple requests for my blueprints, all falling on deaf ears.

As for the vinyl clad cabinetry, as you can see from the photo, they should not be put near a heat source, like an oven. This photo was taken from the cabinet a half inch from the oven door. The vinyl clearly started to melt from the heat. Note: this oven was used only a handful of times for this to happen. So if you are using vinyl, make absolutely sure there is space between your oven and your vinyl cabinets.

As an amateur woodworker, I am keenly aware of quality of cabinetry. You can see the drawers use dovetail joints around the drawer boxes, which is the best quality joinery. However, the drawer bottoms, after a couple of years, are not fitting very well. I guess the material used for the drawer bottoms is less than first-rate.

Overall, I am not very upset that we used these for our kitchen, assuming both the contractor and this “Kitchen Depot“ didn’t know about the oven problem. Hopefully they do now! But there are better quality cabinets available, and, in retrospect, I wish I had used one of them. I mean, what am I supposed to do with all the vinyl on both sides of this oven? So thrilled with this product! I have been looking forward to designing a nice kitchen since 2006. We ended up doing it this year. We also ended up renovating the entire house so by the time it came time to order kitchen cabinets I was a little overwhelmed and under enthusiastic. When I walked into their show room it was like waking up from a fog. They had just the right amount of cabinets displayed and a great selection without being overwhelming. Steve Ravit helped me put together a well thought out and beautiful layout. The cabinets are still going in right now but I am thrilled with the product! Actually I ordered them so long ago I forgot what they looked like - and it wasn’t because they took so long it was because our house wasn’t ready for them. Marlene is a magician. She did such an amazing job on designing my kitchen. I had few meetings and she understood the assignment and delivered it on time. Not only she did a fantastic job of designing my kitchen but all her measurements were to the point that my contractor was super happy. She has such a great taste that I went to her for recommendation for knobs, floors, backsplash almost everything which made my life easier as I did not have to shop around.

She is very personable and pleasant to work with. I shopped around quite a bit and was disgusted and delayed my kitchen project but when I found Marlene and met her. I knew she is the right person and I am so happy with my decision. My kitchen looks elegant and I got many many compliments.
