Review Title: Disappointing Experience at Xplore
I recently visited Xplore, drawn in by the allure of their vibrant claw machines, which seemed to promise a fun and rewarding time. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but. Despite the machines being filled with an enticing array of prizes, it became apparent rather quickly that winning was nearly impossible.
The claw machines at Xplore are misleading. The claws themselves are so weak that they can barely lift a feather, let alone the stuffed animals and other prizes they're supposed to grab. I spent a considerable amount of money, trying different machines and strategies, only to realize that the game was rigged against me from the start. The claws would tantalizingly close around a prize, lifting it slightly, only to drop it just before reaching the chute, every single time.
However, this wasn't about chance; it was about machines that are purposefully set up for failure, presumably to keep people spending without any real hope of winning.
The ambiance of Xplore might be appealing, with its flashy lights and energetic music, but don't be fooled. The attraction—the claw machines—are a letdown. It's one thing to enjoy a challenging game, but it's another to participate in one where the odds are so heavily stacked against you that success is virtually unattainable.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a fun and fair gaming experience, I'd recommend steering clear of Xplore. There are plenty of other entertainment venues where your time and money will be better spent. The only prize I left with was the lesson that not all games are played on a level...
Read moreXplore (both locations) and Safari have always been our go-to for open play and birthday parties for our children for years. Commack was always the easiest to manage with multiple children due to its layout, so was always a first choice for play dates. Unfortunately, unlike Port Jeff and Safari, the Commack Xplore has taken a turn for the worse. Even though the prices were increased, the equipment and staff leave much to be desired. So much of the equipment is damaged or missing, all of the upgrades made are for activities that require additional payment, and the front desk staff is very unfriendly. It's such a difference from their other locations, and SO disappointing! It makes such little sense that I'm paying $49.97 for two kids without a sibling discount. When asked what was included in the price other than the 3 inflatables and jungle gym, I was told the price increase includes laser tag, which you have to be 6 or older to partake (only one of my kids). The brand new go karts, the video arcade and virtual games are not included. If the prices were increased for just open play, then it should be reflected in the quality of the back open play area. It's a shame because the staff at Port Jeff, as well as their equipment and what's included (rock wall, zip lining, etc) is incredible. This will no longer be my recommendation to...
Read moreI have never before written a review but had to … Beyond Horrible! Had my sons birthday party here and the service was unbelievably Terrible. Went into dirty room, with STICKY tables that I cleaned myself because the hostess was late. My shoes were literally sticking to the floor!!! (Not to mention we were a 10am party so they didn’t clean up from the day before… I can only imagine a later party). Our hostess was MIA the entire time we were in the party room. Kids were not asked if they want seconds or what kind of drinks they want like a normal party. I was serving them. We ordered an ice cream cake from them which was frozen solid and took about 20+ minutes to cut… which I had to cut after the hostess gave up on and walked out of the room after serving 3 children cake??!! The manager told me it was taken out 30 minutes before but they have a deep freezer? The cake was purchased through xplore so I would think they would know how long it needed to be out for?! By the time it was cut they told us we had to leave the room for the next party. The venue itself is nice and luckily they are 5 and kids always have a blast with eachother but from a parent spending $700 on a party you expect a clean party room and the hostess to actually serve the kids pizza and juice?!?! Plenty of other indoor facilities like this that do a...
