Hello, Im not here to bash the Raddison in no way...Its just falls among the many hotels struggling in this economy. My experience here wasn't awful but with some attention given to the already existing problems it could have been avoided making my stay pleasant. Traveling was a good 20 mins away from our venue...I did appreciate the Apple Bees across from the hotel & a convenient store as well. Anyhoos...We were able to pullup right in the front..Hubby enters and checked in. Receptionist was nice & gave us what info she could. As we finished a bus load of young athletics came in behind us. So we hurried with our luggage to the elevator...lol. The lobby was dark but the check-in area lighting was a tad lighter. Kinda gave the illusion of a nightclub..just missing the performers...So check-in went well & we felt like, "Oh ok, not to bad now lets see the rooms after reading the reviews". Oh we had to carry our luggage..no racks available..Bummer..So we enter the room which was like a literal icebox!!! Room was very good..yes there was scratches on the furniture & it needed a good polishing..Overall it was nice..The bathroom was my friend...very clean. They provided a good iron also and the fridge wrked so we stored 3days of food & used the cooler for drinks. Our beds were thick comfy. The TV was not the best but we were exhausted had no time watch anyway.. Hubby enjoyed the pressure from his shower & took many..lol We both slept good that first night... That morning I walked over to the table and saw something dark butI couldn't make out what it was until I turned on the light😳. To my surprise it was my box of donuts engulfed with "ants". 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜 I quickly picked up the box & they ran everywhere...I started screaming & my husband jumped up and advised me to let them run...But I was mashing all that I could. Eventually I ran out the room with the box screaming all the way down the hall to housecleaning & threw out the box with ants crawling up my arms.lol So later that night I had a glass of wine & they consumed that also plus crawled in my bed..So now all sweets had to go in the fridge. Informed management but they said the chemicals would be too strong to spray in the room so we endured.. Besides that my stay ok...We didn't use the pool or any other amenities only the microwave located in the lobby... Breakfast was cold & placed in a box like a handout for the homeless which consisted of muffin, dry roll, & fruit with coffee. Staff in that area not to friendly unless you were purchasing the $16 dollar breakfast meal. Ao that's our experience here at the Raddison for 3 days...Hopefully by next year, management has taken steps to improve in ll of these areas & remain on the list..No pictures of donuts but I did catch these.

Oh boy, where to start when you drive in the hotel entrance is literally crumbling down with caution tape and, and rubble. This is a Supreme hazard that the department of building needs to investigate. Once we called to get basic info about the pool which I will get in a second. We were Greeted with the most abysmal customer service, they do not say hello or greet you answered me with one word responses. Now the check in same no customer service no greeting by some teenager with no social skills. The room was freezing cold even though we had the hvac to the highest setting. The bathroom smaller than a phone booth. And the tiles were dirty mold on the shower head and the grout. The ceiling is literally falling down because it is cheap Styrofoam tile with no vent at all. We tried to go to the "heated pool" and this was colder than outdoor water, the jacuzzi dry as a bone. If the low price is attracting you here saves yourself the headache and financial burden because also they will try to steal your security deposit and ALSO they have a giant sign on the front desk saying they will charge a $250 dollar fee for smoking in the room, which they tried to charge immediately after we checked out, which is ludicrous because we are non smokers, and even if we were were would not be foolish enough to smoke in a hotel room. And WE left a tip for the cleaning crew!!! Upon calling back we we berated and judged and accused of smoking in the room by whoever picked up the phone they purposely did not say their name so I could not leave it in the review. Just know whoever was working this morning at the front desk has no idea how to speak to people no less paying clients who patronized your subpar hotel. At the end of the conversation they said we were banned from the hotel as if we would give another dollar to this "establishment". The fact that they would attempt to steal from us without allowing us to clarify the situation is criminal also they threatened us with legal action if we continued to reach out. I almost never write negative reviews but whoever reading do not waste your precious time, money, or energy with this hospitality racket. Supremely dissapointed!

The hotel was operating under hazardous conditions. With temperatures over 90 degrees Fahrenheit, the hotel did not have working air conditioning in my room. We also found many live critters in the hotel room. I went to front desk everyday asking for someone to come take a look at the AC. Maintenance came in and checked the temperature blowing out of the AC and even he stated that it was broken. I had the temperature set to 63, they AC was keeping the room at 70+. NOT ACCEPTABLE. When pest control came and sprayed the room, it brought out even more bugs. Spoke with front desk and asked for a room change but was told I would have to switch from a double bed room to a king bed room. This would not accommodate the number of guests I had in my room. Plus, this room didn’t have a working AC either since the hotel was sold out for an event and many guests were switching in and out of rooms due to this issue. I called the hotel a few days after my stay to speak with the manager in regards to a refund. I was told I would be called back within a few days and I never received a call back. I was a part of the bridal party and all the hotels in the area were sold out so I had no other option but to stay at this hotel. In all honesty, it should not have been operating at the time since the management was aware of the AC not working. The excuse of the AC not working is “we ran out of gas”. That is not a valid excuse. If that is the case, management should have found a fix before hosting a large event. They should have provided guests with fans. It was so hot in the hotel, you would instantly start sweating from just standing. The bugs were also an accurate representation of the hotel not properly cleaning their rooms. We had found several webs in different parts of the rooms.

There needs to be a Zero star option but in the absence of such, I am forced to give my experience at Radisson Hauppauge 1 star. I stayed at this dark, dirty, dreary, dreadful hotel four (4) nights. First off, entering the dark and dreary, lackluster lobby upon check-in, the place wreaked of gas! There was a gas leak! Likely due to the construction or damage to the property. Jared was sitting there and I expressed concern because the smell was so strong.

The quick check-in and out processes are the only thing I recommend about my stay here. My room was on the 6th floor. The hall carpeting was filthy. The elevator floors were filthy. The carpet in my room was stained and filthy. I wish I had taken a photo of the bed which looked like something you would expect to see at a crummy Motel 6 in a crummy section of town with a Health and Human Services housing contract. The “comforter” was lumpy; just unappealing looking and unattractive. It was a shock! The sheets were never changed. The pillows were too soft as though they had been frequently put through a washing machine.

My bed was left unmade two of the four nights I spent there. Towels and wash cloths, even the bath mat, were not replaced. I actually had to ask for a bath mat and towels at the front desk!

Everyday after a long and busy day, I’d take the filthy and creaky elevator up to my room and then, HORRORS… the card key did not work! Now I have to go back downstairs again and have Jared reactivate my card key.

The reception on my so called “flat screen” TV was crummy, particularly the local channels. Despite my daily complaints and Jared’s and the female’s furious note making, remained crummy and snowy to the bitter end. I checked out at 4:30a having slept 4 nights there.

There was NO continental breakfast only a pitiful little set aside space with coffee and soft drinks and chips which wasn’t ever open before 7am. There was NO continental breakfast even though Jared told me himself the continental breakfast buffet was only available on Saturday and Sunday mornings. He never mentioned there was a $15. fee. Neither does any Radisson ad or Booking.com.

To add insult to injury, the rates were jacked up in excess of $40. Friday and Saturday nights and I was NEVER made aware of this. This is not the way it was advertised on Booking.com.

The hotel had a Budget rent a car station but it may as well not have been there for how unaccommodating and useless it was. This was the most dreadful, inhospitable hotel experience I have ever had in my life! To quote the late, great Bette Davis: “What. A. Dump!”

Stay here at your peril. Unless spending close to $1000. bucks for a subpar 2 Star hotel experience doesn’t bother you. I spoke with Christine who said she would call me back to discuss the bill. I never received a call from Christine although I did get an empty and impotent email response to my responses to the survey I completed. The Radisson Hauppauge is a 2Star hotel deceiving the public and perhaps other third parties. It’s a crummy hotel!

My round trip flight from San Diego to NYC was a delight. My visit with my family was enjoyable. The four nights I spent at this hotel followed by the absolute pain of having to pay what I paid completely ruined my trip and continues to rob me of my joy and disrupt my peace of mind. I feel as though I have been cheated and deceived with my eyes wide open. I’m so careful with money. I cannot believe this has happened to me. Everyone associated with Radisson Hauppauge, from Corporate to the cleaning staff, have absolutely NOTHING to be proud of. You should all be embarrassed. This place is a

HORROR!

I will make it my mission to discourage anyone and everyone I know to stay away from there, and what is more, I will never come to Long...

Severely Disappointing Stay at a Once-Promising Hotel

I recently stayed at The Radisson in Hauppauge, NY, from August 9th to 11th, 2024, and unfortunately, the experience was far below my expectations.

After arriving shortly after midnight, exhausted from a long day of travel, we encountered immediate issues. Although check-in was quick, our key cards didn’t work upon reaching our room. When I returned to the front desk, I found no staff present. Along with two other guests, I waited about 30 minutes for someone to appear. We rang the bell multiple times, but no one responded, and my attempts to call the desk went unanswered. Only after knocking on “Employee Only” doors and calling out down the hallway did a staff member finally emerge. To my dismay, he was dismissive and abrasive, insisting that taking out a barely full bag of trash was more important than assisting paying guests.

The issues didn’t end there. The hotel’s lock system was confusing and problematic. Initially, we were given a swipe entry key that didn’t work. After returning to the desk, we were provided a tap entry key, which allowed us into the room. However, these tap keys did not work for the swipe entry locks on the exterior doors, leading to more frustration later in our stay.

Upon entering the room, we were immediately disappointed. The room was extremely humid and reeked of urine. It was clear that housekeeping had not done their job—the carpets were unvacuumed, with hair, dust, and bits of trash under the desk and dresser. The bathroom floor was neither swept nor mopped, with hair and dirt scattered everywhere. The bathroom counter was filthy with grime and stains, and there were smudges on the mirror. To top it off, I discovered what looked like a fried chicken bone under the trash can. The bed was no better. The mattress was filthy and stained, with a stained blanket placed under the fitted sheet, which was so stretched out that it barely stayed on the bed. It felt as if we were sleeping on a flat sheet.

The TV wasn’t functional either, plagued by a fuzzy picture and excessive static that made it unusable. When we reported the issue to the front desk the next morning, the staff member was much kinder and quickly sent someone to address the problem. While the static was resolved, the picture remained blurry, diminishing our ability to relax and enjoy our time in the room.

Housekeeping was another significant issue. Despite us clearly stating that we didn’t want housekeeping, they knocked on our door starting at 9:30 AM each day, and continued every hour until we finally left the room at 4 PM. It was puzzling that they would persistently knock throughout the day but then stop completely once we left, leaving the room as filthy as when we departed.

When we returned from our event that evening, we were unable to re-enter the hotel through the exterior doors, as the tap entry keys provided didn’t work on the swipe locks. We were finally let in by another guest after struggling with the locked doors.

It’s clear that this hotel is severely understaffed and in dire need of better management. The building itself looks like it was once a nice hotel, but it’s now in a state of disrepair. Stains covered the carpets outside the elevators, scuffs and dirt marred the walls, and the elevator area was barren and dirty, with no decor or welcoming furniture.

To add to our frustrations, we found that the ice machines were either non-existent or non-functional on every floor from our room on the 4th floor to the lobby.

For a hotel with such potential, it’s disappointing to see it in such poor condition. I strongly urge potential guests to reconsider staying here until these issues are addressed...

We had attempted to stay at this hotel once under it's previous name and ownership. It was horrible and we canceled our second night. When I booked again the name had changed to Radisson so I didn't realize until we arrived it was the same hotel. First everything is extremely outdated. When we arrived (very late) we walked around for a while and no one was around. We kept calling out but no one came. We finally knocked on what looked like an office door and a minute or so later someone came out and didn't say a word but stared at my husband. I said we were checking in and she went to the computer without saying a word. She finally asked my name and information but could not find my reservation. Finally after about 5 minutes she asked for my ID and credit card and handed me the room key, which I assumed meant she found my reservation. She Did not tell me which direction my room was in or say anything else. I grabbed my bag and looked at my room key holder to find out my room and looked up and she was gone. We went towards where we thought our room was and stepped over several areas of rug that were ripped and rumpled up. The lighting was pretty dim in the hallway. We got to our room and it smelled stale and musty. We flicked on the light by the door and the light did not come on. I flicked it on and off a few more times and finally it came on but the light cover in the ceiling was so dirty the light was horribly dim or bulb was out but I couldn't tell which since the cover was so horribly discolored. I walked over to the bathroom and turned that light on and noticed the floors were dirty and had hair on them. The room was not even close to the pictures online. The comforter was brownish red and very dated. The sheets were ill fitting and coming up in the corners. There were two stains on the floor including one very large one next to the bed. The carpet was also fraying and pulled up in places. We left the room right away and asked to cancel our reservation and we were told we couldn't because we had arrived too late for that night but we could cancel our night for tomorrow that we booked. We spent no more than 90 seconds in the room to leave and be charged anyway. The "manager" we talked to a few days later said they didn't see any reservation for our second night and that we hadn't been charged. Which was incorrect, we were in fact charged. And he could not refund anything and we needed to take it up with the company we booked through. When my the company I booked with called them about my refund, the refused to allow a refund for the first night when we arrived late and promptly left after calling twice. The parking lot is also very dimly lit at night and the parking is not near the entrance. Two of the front doors did not work and had signs on them. Overall it was terribly disgusting and I will never go back there. Unless you are looking for a hotel that gives you the feel that they should charge by the hour I would STRONGLY NOT...
