The bear Mt ice rink is an outdoor rink in a beautiful state park located above the Hudson River. It is cheaper than some other rinks, and the average skate time of an hour and a half is plenty to time to skate in circles. The staff is great, and the facility is clean and free of debris. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the other people that go to the rink. The rink is popular and gets packed with skaters of all levels. The hockey teenagers skate way too fast between people, even in tight crowds. And when it's packed, if someone bad at skating goes down in front of you, there's no way to dodge them. Read moreGreat ice skating for the whole family. We came for the 2pm session And tickets were on sale usually an hr before doors open. Nice area in the mountains. Session is only 1.5 hrs. Nice experience nice ice skating over looking bear mountain. It was cold but enjoyable. I have been here before and can’t wait to come back. Cool place to go and just spend the day. Had to wait in line to get in at 1:50 then wait on another line outdoors to get into the indoor area to grab our skates. Had to carry our sneakers with us either while ice skating or put them on the side of the rink while ice skating. Can’t wait to...

The ice does not seem high quality because after 45 minutes or so it becomes really chopped up, but, still a nice experience. On a Sunday night, however, the experience is less pleasant. Overcrowded for covid times and they are not able to enforce masks on the ice due to it being an outdoor rink so you can draw your own conclusions. Overall, I'd recommend it as long as you can go...
