Fort Clinton — Attraction in Town of Stony Point

Lovely time at Trailside Museums & Zoo, even on a cloudy, chilly & breezy April Sunday, with some animals temporarily off exhibit. I find it easier to see & appreciate the landscape with its history, biomes, & geology when the leaves are off the trees. Kudos to the Palisades Interstate Park Commission for the efficient use of limited resources: The museums' buildings & interpretive exhibits are well maintained for their age. Still, their age is very obvious, and their media & content are in desperate need of updating: The scientific & historical research behind many of them is out of date, there is cultural backwardness in some of the interpretive text, and unhelpful spelling & grammar errors intrude. Look forward to returning in other seasons and paddleboating, seeing river otters, and exploring the abundance of trails. $10/car to park, $1/person...
