We booked a table for 5 for Brunch with Santa on Dec. 15 and were very excited to try the food out for the first time since we live about 20 minutes away and have never tried it! When we got there we didn't find any signs pointing us towards the brunch or any people who could direct us so I went to the front desk at the inn to ask and was told where to go (upstairs dining area). It felt a bit unorganized but the place is beautiful and I was willing to be patient. We had signed up for the 10am brunch and the line at the door was very long so next time we might sign up for the later session to see if there might be less of a wait. Fortunately the line did move well once the doors opened. We were seated but again, no instructions as to whether we should go to the the buffet or wait to be asked. Finally saw everyone else getting on line so we did too, but the line was long and disorganized and it probably would have helped to have someone guiding people to the different lines. I have to say the food was fabulous though, but we felt rushed to leave and our server was taking plates away before we were done eating, so we had to hang on to our food since getting seconds was almost impossible! Also felt like the people serving at the buffet were giving such small portions that next time we might have to grab 2 plates or miss out on any seconds! I had gotten a small piece of French toast that was delicious, but the server gave me no blueberries and I had to ask, but only got 5 little blueberries, which is OK, but when I went back up an hour later, the food was already put away. Since they were in such a rush, when we got the check, my husband paid and I never looked at his receipt. We got home and I got the emailed receipt and looked and saw that they had charged us $48 for our 2 year old grandson who was supposed to be free. They also automatically added 18% for gratuity, which is fine, but we are trying to get in touch with the restaurant to get a credit for the overcharge. Also, my grandson never got his photo with Santa because that line was so slow and long that my son and daughter in law gave up on waiting. They did get his free ride on the carousel and that was nice. The place is beautiful, the food is fabulous, service could be better, but I'm a huge believer in trying a second time so we are in the midst of trying to get a credit for the $48 we were overcharged so we can return for another brunch soon and hopefully have a better experience in this beautiful place.

The restaurant 1915 is located on the second floor of the historic Bear Mountain Inn, and for most visitors, it’s the only real dining option in the park if you’re hoping for something more substantial than trail mix or a packed lunch. And you do pay for the premium. At noon, it operates buffet-style, charging for about $60 a person, with only a moderate selection of food. For hot foods, you can’t serve yourself. Instead, you point at your choices behind the buffet line and a waiter portions it for you, a slightly annoying formality. The spread leans toward comfort food: carved meats, pastas in creamy sauces, roasted vegetables, and a modest salad bar with cured meats and smoked salmon tucked among the greens. There’s a waffle station too, where you can point the cook to pile berries, whipped cream, and dried fruits onto thick golden rounds. It’s not an overwhelming variety, and for the price — noticeably high — you might hope for a bit more refinement or breadth. With the above said, the food is simple but satisfying: the salmon surprisingly moist, the beef hearty, the salad fresh if unremarkable. The waffles are great, feel like a small indulgence earned after a morning’s climb. And the setting — those sweeping views through the wide lodge windows, the heavy timbered ceiling soaring above — makes the meal feel like part of a larger, almost storybook outing.

This was our final spot before returning back to the city and hiking Anthony’s Nose. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of a huge mountain cabin and is decorated nicely with woodsy/Bear Mountain decor. My friend ordered chicken pot pie and I got the Steak Frites (and Prosecco-not pictured). The steak could stand to be hotter and it was likely due to the chicken pot pie that we were told takes a while. The fries were 10/10 and crisp while being soft inside. My friend said her pot pie was one of the best she’s had. Overall, a good visit and I do recommend this spot if you’re visiting the area!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our nation's birthday with afternoon tea at the 1915 restaurant in the Bear Mountain Inn in NY state.

Our servers were fantastic and catered to our every need. They consistently checked on us to see if we needed more tea or anything else. They made us feel like we were the king and queens having afternoon tea in one of the lush green hills in England! And must say this was the absolutely best service by waitresses of all time! I cannot say enough about the ladies!

We started out toasting the USA and our founding fathers with some prosecco.

Our first course was a delightful goat cheese quiche with a flaky crust.

Next we received our 3 tier tea service. The cucumber and radish tea sandwiches were yummy, even though I'm not a fan of radishes, by putting slim matchsticks of radishes on the sandwich it was not overwhelming and gave the cucumbers sandwiches and extra zing

The turkey and cheese and egg salad tea sandwiches which are some of our traditional favors equally as pleasing.

The vanilla cinnamon scone was fresh and not dried out as was the Blueberry scone.

For desserts the pecan shortbread cookie melted in your mouth. The mini fruit tart...delicious custard with a fresh burst of flavor the raspberries and Blueberries. The floral jammie cookies another traditional English favorite were just as delectable. And the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting was so delectable moist.

We were served more than enough food and even took home some of our left overs.

Afternoon tea at the 1915 restaurant here at the bear mountain inn is definitely one of the tops on our list and favorites and we can wait to come back again! We live out of state and it was a bit of a ride for us but will definitely be coming back to this hidden gem in NY state. If you enjoy afternoon tea we highly recommend to take a trip to the 1915 restaurant it is definitely...

The evening started great. When we sat down, water was immediately given. It took a little bit for someone to come over to wait on our table. But she was really friendly and very polite, answered whatever questions we had.

The restaurant was not crowded and there were 3 servers in the area. We placed our appetizer and drink orders. Drinks came quick. Appetizer not too long of a wait. We placed our dinner orders. The food took almost 45 minutes to come to our table. The server only came to our table after 30 minutes to apologize for such a long wait. Offered us rolls which we were supposed to get anyway.

Once the food came, my order was mixed up with the other person at our table but we were starving so we didn't make a big deal about it.

The server never came to check on us during or after the meal. About 15 minutes after our plates were cleared, she came over with dessert menus.

We were ready to order dessert but she didn't have a pen. Told us she would be right back. We sat there for almost 20 minutes. We watched the server takes orders from other tables but she never came back to our table.

At that point we were so annoyed we said forget dessert and asked another server for the check. It took another 15 minutes for our original server to come and drop off the check to the table.

The food was excellent once we got it. The atmosphere was awesome. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. She was very nice when she spoke to us but she was very inattentive, like we were so...
