Pete's Market — Local services in Town of Tusten

I’m conflicted. I don’t want to hurt a small business people rely on but I also don’t want to lie so here it goes. The prices are fair for a small town grocery store, the staff are courteous and helpful. You won’t find anything out of date on the shelves. They usually always have something new in the bakery section to keep things interesting, and all the checkout lines were surprisingly OPEN...I know...it’s a miracle which is super awesome. HOWEVER when I order expensive boars head roast beef from the deli...I expect to get boars head roast beef. I paid for boars head, the tag says boars head, but it is NOT boars head roast beef. I have been eating the same roast beef for 20 years and what I got instead was the cheap grey colored discount product. That’s borderline theft by deception. I really hope it was an accident and not intentional. I will shop at...

Having recently moved to the area, I was somewhat surprised to find a grocery store with this large a selection in a small town like Narrowsburgh. Pete's is a mini-supermarket with the charm of a Mom-and-Pop country store. Their prices are very good considering their rural location and the fact that many other local businesses are going 'upscale'. They have an astonishing variety of products from National brands to local/generic ones, organic foods, artisanal cheeses, healthy foods like Kefir, Quinoa, and Kombucha, and local produce. Their bakery gets rolls from DiFilippi's, and their deli is well-stocked with Boar's Head meats and cheeses (the also make a variety of hold and cold sandwiches, including some excellent varieties suggest by and named for employees(?).) This will be my go-to store for general grocery shopping whilst I live...

We ordered 3 submarine sandwiches from the deli 5/23/2023 got them home there was nothing on them but a couple slices of ham and a slice of cheese THATS IT! What a joke! So the store manager (AC) whoever that is wants us to drive another hour to bring them back so we lose 2 hours driving time they lose nothing! And another 2 hours of being hungry. 20 years of doing business in this store NEVER EVER again. I mean you pay $30 and you get 3 pieces of bread and a couple thin slices of ham....WHAT A JOKE!! Will do business with the bank but thats it they will never see another dollar from myself...
