Long review but worth a fair read. June of 2018 my husband, (boyfriend at the time) purchased my engagement ring from the Viewmont Mall location, horrible service to say the least but he left with a ring and was happy with what he had accomplished. A few months later (August maybe September) we ventured to the Oakdale Mall location in hopes of a better experience where we could pick out our wedding bands for our upcoming day. He explained that he had felt rushed with his last experience and that I had previously been sized wrong by Kay's before he purchased my engagement ring, he just wanted to make sure we both got what we needed customer service wise and that we were happy with our purchases. We were assured they would make right what the Viewmont Mall location had failed to do, they looked over my engagement ring and told me I had lost me Leo diamond, that they would resize my ring and get me a new Leo, we shopped for a while, left with a necklace and a small band for me to decide if I wanted to keep it or go with another option for our wedding day, as well as left my engagement ring for repairs. It took weeks to get my ring back, Leo was never reinstalled, the ring wasn't sized correctly so it had to be sent back out for weeks. Finally I got my engagement ring back in time for our wedding... still no Leo but I was assured I could bring it back after the wedding and get it fixed (we purchased the warranty) so we waited. Recently I've visited the store to make sure I am keeping my warranty, and mentioned I would like to finally send my ring out for repair, and to be plated again (white gold), as well as get my wedding band soldered to my engagement ring... crickets, of course, just the longest process, griping, groaning, no assistance what so ever, I probably could have sent it to the local plating house and had it back without any problems when it isn't even their jobs. Needless to say, I am still waiting to get my rings sorted correctly, If they would have refunded us I probably would've went somewhere else earlier in the process but now there is too much sentimental value in what I have. If someone is simply looking for a necklace or earrings this would be the place to go, or simple jewelry, otherwise, don't take shortcuts, go to an actual jeweler who can work on your rings in house and provide you with customer service in a field they are an expertise in. Kay's is just a retail storefront with employees pushing products, they do not do the work in house, and they can't get you what you would like if it is out of their norm. Your sentimental items and special day jewelry should be handled with the utmost care and respect, save a little extra and make it count. It is worth it in...
Read moreI went in two weeks ago to get myself a birthday gift. I had a great experience with the lady that helped me. I went in today to pick up the ring after getting it resized and the lady who helped me this time made me feel so uncomfortable. I paid for the ring but forgot I had to pay for the sizing once the ring came back. I put the ring on to make sure that the size was right and I left my wallet in my car parked right infront of the store. When I was informed that I had to make the payment for sizing, I said okay my wallets in my car right in front of the store. I opened my car from the store and left the keys. The sells lady who would not give me her name disrespectfully told me to give her back the ring. I understand people steal but the way she said it made me feel so uncomfortable that I just asked for a refund and Iam not going back. I always get my jewelry for my birthday at Kay's but after this I don't feel comfortable giving them my hard...
Read moreBought my ring here about 2.5 years ago. This is the 3rd time I have had a diamond fall out. I drive an hour every six months to get my ring cleaned and inspected just to keep my warranty active. When I went in today I was told it would be $78. to fix because I did not have the "extended warranty". which I was never offered AND it was the first time I have heard about it. When I asked if I could trade mine in for an upgrade, to a ring that didn't fall apart, I was told sure but it would cost me 1400. My ring was only $800. So I asked wouldn't it be cheaper to just throw my ring away and buy the new one (valued at $800)? I have been a customer for over 25 years. I just want a ring that doesn't keep falling apart. Please just take this ring and I will be willing to pay a little...
