Staff needs to learn what actually qualifies at a sales pitch and when to stop after the customer calls them out on it. I was in the store the other day and the rep at the counter told me I had a reward coupon and after I agreed to use it, he mentioned how it would be beneficial to sign up for the store card so id get 5x the reward points. I told him I was not interested in a credit card and started to leave, but he continued to press. I said i appreciate the sales pitch, I am not interested. he then tried to tell me that he was not sales pitching me, that he agreed with me, but it made sense to get the program because of how beneficial it was. I said that was a sales pitch. that is a sales tactic and that i had worked in sales for 10 years and I've used that very trick to land sales. he insisted that it wasn't, tried to present the card program again at which point i had told him agree to disagree, have a nice day and walked out. I would have just used the self checkout to avoid contact with the clerk at this store, but i had a bag I wanted to purchase that had ripped, the stock was kept out front and I needed to let them know I was swapping it for an unripped one. I'm not sure what incentive is given to get customers to sign up for these cards, but when a customer says no, it means no. not argue with them. especially when I said I was aware of the benefits, and explained my reasons for not wanting another card, but he chose to ignore that and push for it anyway. if i wanted to deal with a hard push sales experience, id go hang out in a car dealership or a phone store, not my local tractor supply. ill be making it a point to shop a different location going...
Read moreWe bought a pelpro stove from them in October. Shortly after, it broke. We went back and forth between this tractor supply and pelpro. Matter was never resolved. By the time we found the head branch manager, it was just over the 90 days. They refused to refund us, replace it or help. They said it was too late. We borrowed against my husband's retirement to make this purchase to ease the cost of fueling our home. Now we have spent an additional $1200 plus on fuel oil and are almost out again, many hours trying to resolve this and the gas money driving back and forth. Not to mention the stress. This is money our family does not have. We really counted on this stove to heat our small 900 sq ft home. We have lost heat once when this broke and now almost ran out of fuel a couple times. We are here with a a husband with 1.5 lungs, small child, I'm pregnant and several senior animals. Yet this branch does not care. We reported them to BBB without a response. We will go to other tractor supply branches in the area. Still...
Read moreI purchased a $3000+ Cub Cadet from another TSC store closer to my home. But I was in this area and decided to purchase a specific lift/jack for the same tractor. I looked it up on my phone and stated it was available for pick up. I went right in and looked for the lift. No where to be found. Well when I first walked in there were two employees at the register. I asked where were the jacks and was pointed to the back of the store. So I went over and searched and searched for the jack. Not there. After searching for about 10 minutes I went back to the front where the young man was at and asked could you look up and see if this jack is here in the store, because your website says it is. He basically said nope that would be the only area it would be at and if it is not there, then we don't have it. Well OK. Terrible customer service. At least look up the SKU and tell me if your inventory was correct...
