I was hesitant about coming here for the longest time based on the mixed reviews, but a friend wanted to come here to celebrate her new job so four of us went last Sunday for brunch. I was pleasantly surprised and overall really enjoyed the food and experience. Our server, Kailynn, was great. She was friendly and attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. We got there early and drinks and food arrived quickly. We ordered a few appetizers and entrées and I tried two different cocktails, and I don’t have a complaint about any of the dishes. I love spicy drinks so I started out with the Slow Burn cocktail and it was delicious, perfectly spicy without being overwhelming and also refreshing. For my second drink, I had the Snowing in Miami, which was also delicious and well crafted. I’m a completely amateur mixologist at home and I appreciate a well-made drink with no mixers or too much sweetness. We ordered several appetizers, including the sweet potato hush puppies, and the crispy pork belly. The hush puppy was well cooked and crisp on the outside, creamy and smooth on the inside and overall a nice dish. The crispy pork belly was outstanding. It was meaty, full of umami, both salty & sweet and the cool slaw on top was perfect. For entrées, I had the waffle and fried chicken. The chicken was a bit dark, but overall it was very well seasoned and the waffle was delicious although I would deduct a point because it was served with pancake syrup and not pure maple syrup. They really think about the extra touches that tie all the flavors together and the honey butter on the salty chicken was perfect. I tried a bite of my friend’s BEC flatbread and again, it was delicious. It was a nice contrast of textures and flavors, and the paprika aïoli was well seasoned without being too smoky or spicy. By the time we finished around 12:45, the restaurant was quite busy. We all enjoyed our food and I would definitely visit again with my family. Hopefully my next experience is as good as the first. I was curious to try the unlimited mimosas, but unfortunately had to drive so next time.

You wouldn't be surprised with all these negative reviews within one day on Yelp, should've read and trusted the reviews. This place is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. To start, the host in the front had attitude. We reserved a table and were seated on a table inside but it was straight down from the door where the door was opened and it was super cold for us. We requested to switch to another table since we saw many booths opened, but he just said no because they were reserved. That would've been fine, we did see 1 table with a reserved sign, but there were 4-5 booths in our sight that even by the end of our table, were never occupied and no one was ever seated on them. We kept getting reminders on resy that there was a 15 min grace period so I'm not sure why those tables weren't released if they were really actually reserved. The door stayed open for most of our time there until 2/3 into the dinner. They never offered to close the doors on a night where it was barely 50° out and your customer is telling you it's cold. Should've known this was a sign. Onto the food, we ordered all apps and entrees together for the table. Half the food came out cold, tasted terrible and was super dry. The "crispy lamb" was in fact shredded lamb meat that was so so dry and looked like dog food. The mushrooms were so salty, there was no way we could eat it without drinking water after. EVERY single dish had these pickled Fresno chilies in them which was super weird, not sure why the same thing was on 8 different dishes. The seafood boil also wasn't too fresh and made our stomachs uncomfortable after. All of the meal was just a bust. I would say the general Taos cauliflower was okay, if only it wasn't half cold on the inside. The worst was when all the apps came out, all the sides, and every single entree came out, except ONE. It was my birthday dinner and we were excited to try this place but was thoroughly disappointed. All the apps, sides and every entree on the table came out. The waitress kept saying it would come out next, never did. Everyone on the table finished their entrees and after 30 mins, my entree STILL did not come out. By that time, I didn't even want the entree anymore, ended up having to cancel it bc of how long it took. I never got my own entree on my own birthday dinner, what great service. It would've been fine if there was a delay but the waitress told me 3 times repeatedly it was out next and said it was SOON. If she told me from the start it wasn't available or there was an issue, I would've ordered something else or switched it, I was never given that option and just sat there while everyone was eating.

The food was great. I loved the honey butter covered chips! The main entree had a lot of different flavors. I personally don't like any food burnt so the grilled parts of the pita I didn't enjoy and would have opted for something else. Service was great. Today: The Miller House Brewery beer paired well to balance the sweetness of the honey butter better chips for those who enjoy balance flavors during their meals. The deviled eggs were lightly flavored. I would have preferred more paprika, salt and pepper for a more robust flavor. I did taste the lime and crisp onion. The shrimp ceviche was a nice surprise. The flavors were robust and unique to any ceviche I have ever had. I also make ceviche regularly. I would say ceviche enthusiasts should make it a point to have this dish. The Service: the food came out fast. The order was accurate and the Waitress was friendly and professional. I sat outside to enjoy the day. It was a low traffic hour which made it nice and calm at sun set. Parking: when coming from route 9 south it can be a little difficult to get in if you miss the entrance as there are two exit only areas. I usually tie the road behind the dealership to get in for safety purposes. If you are coming up route 9n take the left at the light where old Hopewell and rout 9 meet and make a quick right. The toyota dealership should now be on your right and hertiage is right after on your right for a safe entrance in to the parking lot. Pricing: Expect to pay 5 star prices. The food and drinks are expensive. Most of the entrees I have had are good but in order for me to give them a 5 star rating I would need to feel confident all of the dishes are robust in flavors and unique. I haven't that consistency in experience.

Recently made the trek out to HFD after being interested by their menu for a bit of time now.... unfortunately this was a bit a letdown. Let me explain 👇 Me and company arrived for lunch on a weekday looking to try some of the exciting options we had read about. And from the exterior the place looked modern and inviting. Inside the layout is a little odd but it feels sleek and gives off an upscale vibe. Sadly the food and experience don't match the decor. We were seated promptly and while the restaurant was rather empty it was really loud. Not an issue just a little strange. The service didn't seem all that interested in serving and at first we were confused who our actual waiter was. We ordered an app and a few mains plus lemonade which were heavy on the lemon sour side but ok. The french onion meatballs were the best thing we ordered and that app felt disjointed as the whole thing together kinda sorta made since but not really. Our mains were a mixed bag... The ceaser salad w/crispy pork was not what my company was expecting when it arrived and there was no relay by the waitstaff as to what the dishes we order were so we kinda just winged it. She was hoping for crispy pork belly but got a schnitzel style breaded patty under the salad w/all the dressing. I ordered a smashburger which was a far cry from a REAL smashburger. I mean the patties weren't even smashed down w/ parchment to create those crispy edges and the whole thing was a grease bomb that tasted like a dirty griddle. Major letdown at this spot and I dnt think we'll be returning. I mean everything was edible but it just felt off and missed the mark.
