We just spent a wonderful week at Owl's Hoot Chalet in Townsend, TN (the quiet side of the smokies}. My family and I have stayed in other cabins in this area, but none compare to Owl's Hoot Chalet. What makes this three bedroom, two bath cabin stand apart from the others is that this is truly a home - not just another "cookie cutter" cabin. The decor is comfortable, warm, and inviting. The kitchen was well stocked for all of our cooking needs. The added amenities like soaps, shampoos, conditioners, dishwasher detergent, etc. were a nice touch. We were also given samples of "Front Porch Blend" coffee from the Vienna Coffee Co. After drinking this coffee, we made a trip to Maryville (30 min. away) to the Vienna Coffee House and bought some bags of coffee. The outside of the cabin is delightful - a full porch with table and chairs; a lovely covered gazebo with table, chairs, and a porch swing; chairs to relax in with a cup of coffee in the 5 acre meadow. About 6:00 one evening, we were on the deck looking into the meadow and saw a black bear just saunter across. The cabin is only about five miles from Cades Cove which is a delightful place to drive through. Can't wait to...
Read moreI absolutely love this chalet. It is so homey and inviting and BEAUTIFUL. And spotlessly clean. The owners provide a great information book that was very helpful. The only things we couldn't find from the book were the local ground coffee in the kitchen and something safe to use in the jacuzzi tub. We left some epsom salts for the next guests.
My husband suggested a broom for the deck and grill cleaning tools. And my Mom suggested a new skillet for the kitchen. But the positives of this cabin and location cannot be diminished by these few little things.
My favorite spot on this trip was the little picnic table at the 'peace garden' between the gazebo and the road. Its tree lined but filled with light and sounds. Sooo beautiful.
Myra and here husband are very gracious hosts and I literally had a tear in my eye when we had to leave. I can't wait to go back someday. Thanks for...

Excellent location - close to main roads but feels like you are far far away - very secluded. We did not see or hear another human while there. Easily accessible even in a Prius under snowy conditions. Grocery (IGA) a mile-ish away.
Everything you need to cook good food is there in the chalet - blender, knives, coffee maker (and yummy local coffee!), le creuset pots, every type of glassware, toaster, cookie sheets (I struggle to think of something we needed that was not there).
Washer and drier very nice to have for sure.
The fireplace (owners provided seasoned logs - thank you!!!!)
Jacuzzi tub super relaxing.
Comfy beds all around.
Lovely back deck and side deck with a grill and porch swing.
Huge meadow out back which is begging for some big ole dogs to run about.
THE VIEW!!!!!!!
We will go back for sure. Thx to...
