I’m so pleased that Muluh International Grocery has opened a new location right here in Trenton! No more 15-mile drives to the Bordentown store. This new spot is not only closer but also more spacious and surprisingly better stocked.
They carry all the staples I usually get from the original location, plus some fantastic additions I haven't seen in ages: fresh cassava leaves (Pondu), sweet potato leaves (Matembele), bitter leaves (Bilolo), and careless green (Bitekuteku), frozen chikwangue (Kwanga), frozen plums (Safu), and, what made my day, boxed horse mackerel (Mpiodi) just like we have back home. That one felt like a hug from my childhood.
The staff truly stand out. They don't just point, they walk with you, helping you find everything you need with care and cultural awareness. It's more than grocery shopping; it's a reconnection with heritage.
If you're craving the tastes you grew up with, this is where comfort meets convenience. A big win for Trenton's African and...
Read moreThis international grocery store is really big. They offer a great selection of meats, seafood, vegetables, drinks, and snacks. They also have a kitchen in the back serving up casava leaf, potato greens, fish ( tilapia), Jollof rice, plaintains, and more. The food is pretty good, but I realized that the fish I asked for was not the fish I asked for. It seems they serve tilapia only. The meats they buy in the greens are chicken, pork, and turkey. I don't eat any of those foods. I realized when you order at the counter the food is already precooked so you basically have to order what is already made. Next time I order I will call in first and see if my results will be any better. This is a good place for Africans and Caribbeans to come and shop for their groceries. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are friendly and...
