A Sky-High Experience with Pilot Jack at Scenic Flights Acadia!
My experience with Scenic Flights Acadia, piloted by the exceptional Jack, was nothing short of breathtaking. From the moment we took off, it was clear that we were in the hands of a seasoned professional who is passionate about flying and sharing the beauty of Acadia from above.
Jackās expertise and confidence were immediately evident, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire flight. His smooth handling of the aircraft allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the stunning vistas below. As we soared over the rugged coastline, pristine beaches, and lush forests, Jackās insightful commentary enriched the experience, providing fascinating details about the area's history, geology, and wildlife.
One of the highlights was Jackās ability to spot and point out various landmarks and hidden gems that we would have otherwise missed. His knowledge of Acadiaās landscape is impressive, and his enthusiasm is contagious. The personalized attention and thoughtful narration made the flight both educational and incredibly enjoyable.
The scenery was spectacular, but what truly made the flight unforgettable was Jackās warmth and professionalism. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience, answering all our questions and making sure we were comfortable at every turn. His passion for flying and love for Acadia shone through, making the experience not just a flight, but an adventure.
If youāre looking to see Acadia from a unique and awe-inspiring perspective, I highly recommend booking a flight with Scenic Flights Acadia. Although it was an expensive activity, we live quite a distance from Maine and knew we wouldn't be back any time soon. This allowed us to see Acadia and Bar Harbor on foot, on bike, by car, by boat, and finally with this trip, by air. Each view is quite different and has its own value.
We found them from driving to Ellsworth. They are conveniently located on the right hand side of the road as you leave Bar Harbor. They have plenty of parking available, but we actually booked online the day before. They have a very easy online booking system and descriptions of what each scenic flight offers. I did have a few questions and called and got excellent. Customer service as well.
We arrived for our flight and our pilot was ready on time. They do also have a porta potty on site at the end of the parking lot and drinks you can purchase. I believe water was one dollar.
Silas (hope I spelled that correctly) was a great tour guide and pilot so we had a smooth takeoff and landing, and we were able to fly low enough to have an amazing view of the harbor. You wear headsets that help drown out the engine noise and allow the pilot to talk to you directly while describing all of the landmarks. He provided relevant history and background regarding the Bar Harbor area, lobster fishing, what happened with lighthouses over time, some of the controversy related to lighthouse activity and so on.
I would highly recommend it if you have a relatively clear day and a little extra...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were fortunate enough to book a 75 minute flight on a day of excellent weather. Maine has been experiencing more fog and rain than a typical June.
We called to make the reservation and had no problem getting the day and time we wanted because we booked a week ago. The check in process was simple. We took a seat in the shade to wait while our pilot pulled up from getting fuel across the airfield.
Kaylee was our pilot and tour guide. She pointed out light houses, historical structures, Marth Stewart's summer home (she was actually there in May and flies into the Bar Harbor airport) and the various seafood farms in the area (oyster and salmon... I had no idea there was a salmon farm off the coast of Maine!) Between sites to look at, she answered our questions about local culture and where to get a good Lobster dinner. FYI... She seconded another local's recommendation of Thurston's.
We took the opportunity to watch for wildlife as well. Didn't spot even one moose or seal BUT it was in the heat of the afternoon. We also kept an eye out for whales and dolphins. The water was clear but the animals were taking the day off. LOL
At the end of our flight, even with a little bit of air traffic, Kaylee handled the plane amazingly from take off to landing. I highly...
