Just stayed here a week ago. When we checked in there was a pretty big issue , we paid for a water front site and someone's TT was parked in it. Apparently they were told they could extend their stay there even though we were checking in that day. I did refuse a temp site not on the water as I did not want to have the hassle of unhooking and moving as I wanted the site we paid for. Thankfully staff was able to get a site on the water, staff was great.

As far as amenities we had no time to use the pool as we were pretty much out in Bar Harbor or Acadia Park all day however when I looked at it it did look clean. The cable TV was fuzzy but still watchable and the internet dropped often but I mean we were there to enjoy the outdoors anyways. There is a nice size dog park and they had dumpsters in convenient locations. The island explorer does stop here which is great as we used it everyday. There are also two lobster pounds in walking distance, one right across the street which was nice. We went to the Down East Lobster Pound and it wasn't bad at all.

The best part for us was the view, it was beautiful especially by the water where we were. Watching the moon coming up into the sky from over the mountain was amazing. We also had a bald eagle who would visit the island across from us.

There are however a few things I did not like:

  1. The activities on the calendar online are not happening. I did want to do the Bingo that was advertised however we were told it wasn't happening. I saw no activities for this "Christmas in July" either. Also my husband asked about the pancake breakfast that was advertised as being there however he was told it was not there but at a firehouse and when he asked where he was told they didn't know where it was. Do not put stuff on your schedule if its not happening or if its not happening at the camp ground.

  2. The sites are waaaaay too narrow. Thankfully again we spent most our time out of the park but if we wanted to come back and watch some TV on the side of our RV we would not been able to. We had no room, not even enough to put out our canopy. The sides 401- 407 are too jammed in and I do not see them fixing it as they prob want to make as much money as they can off the water front. Luckily we had such nice neighbors and such a nice view it did not bother us but it may bother some.

  3. The camp store closes very early. Due to this we were never able to purchase additional ice as we were out before it opened and back when they were closed. They really should consider a ice freezer maybe can put money in and it unlocks? That way people can atleast get ice as needed.

All in all I would recommend this place. Any issue we had was resolved and the beautiful view make up for any other inconveniences of...

My wife and I stayed here for only one night. Once we settle in we rarely move or compare other parks but we had a bit of time on our hands but not enough to start exploring Acadia so on the same day we set up here we drove around to compare other RV parks, especially those closer to Acadia. Within a little over 1 hour we looked at 4 other parks and found 2 of them were preferable. We easily decided to move. The location of Narrows Too is fine in relation to Acadia but not the closest. It is very close to the airport with the noise level that implies. The bathrooms were very clean with excellent water pressure and we were impressed with them but this is a large park and most sites were quite a walk to them. Free WiFi but only in the activity building, again, quite a walk away. The rest of the grounds require you to purchase Internet. I didn't find the staff particularly nice or helpful but I realize that is highly random depending on who one happens to interact with. Also I realize this judgement is highly subjective. Having said that … we were not particularly impressed with the staff. I see that in other reviews others seem to have had better experiences. The grounds are clean but boring. Perhaps a better description would be sterile. That sounds disparaging but I don't mean it to be. People are different and some people love this. Clean, safe and sterile. 40 foot RV's lined up in a nice parking lot. Many people will actually pay extra for this. This is certainly the case at Narrows Too. Our quick survey indicated this is by far the most expensive park in the area. We moved to another park much closer to Acadia with a beautiful view of the water and paid, literally, half as much per night with an additional discount if your stay extends into 6 nights you get the 7th night free. With the airport noise I don't see why anyone would give this a 5 star rating but I can easily see some people giving it perhaps a 4. For some people this is exactly what they are looking for and we understand that. We have a smaller trailer and don't need 50 amp or easy in and out. Our 2 star rating is based on what we are looking for in a park. We like convenient bathrooms, internet, friendly staff, and a park with at least some personality at a reasonable price. We were disappointed with...

Overall, I enjoyed this RV park. We stayed at site 312, an ocean front site. It was definitely one of the nicer sites, though 314 and 315 offered more privacy, yet still had wonderful views. At any of the ocean front sites, there was a fantastic view of Mount Desert Island and the ocean in-between. It was pretty fascinating to watch the tides move in and out throughout the days.

From our campsite, we were able to walk down to the ocean front and poke around, though we are young (30s) and fit and able to walk down the steep rocks. It might not be the easiest trek for someone a generation older. But, regardless, just down the road, there is a trail that is much easier to access the water-front area.

All of the sites have full hook-ups, which worked flawlessly. The campground was clean and up to date.

Unfortunately the campground does not have a playground, though it did have a very large dog park (which my girls found to be a fun 'playground'). There is a pool as well, though was closed when I was there in late May (to be expected).

My only real gripe with this campground is that you can't choose your site, and that there is some miscommunication between the campground and Encore RV resorts. When I booked the site, I called their phone number listed on Google. I connected to an operator from RV resorts, not the actual campground, who got me booked and specifically booked me for site 312. A few days before my arrival, I got an email stating that my site would be booked 24 hours before arriving. I called the same number back and was sent straight to the campground this time. They informed me that I was not booked for site 312, rather I was booked for a "best oceanfront" site (which could be between 309-318), and that I would find out my actual site the day before arrival. There is quite a bit of difference between the different best oceanfront sites. As it turns out, I did get the requested 312, though I was there before prime season and most campsites were empty. I wonder how it would be during the peak season.

Due to the booking situation, and not being able to book my actual site, I would only recommend this campground with some hesitation. If they would change this, and make it possible to book a specific site, I would recommend without hesitation and rate it 5 stars,...

We used this campground as our basecamp for exploring Acadia National Park. It's only about a 30 minute drive from the campground to the top of Mt Washington. We stayed in site 802. It was a large gravel back-in site. Full hookups. 52psi water, 50amp, and sewer. The sewer connection didn't screw in and the donut wouldn't grip very well so we had to use weights to keep the hose from coming out of the sewer connection. Never had a problem but we crossed our fingers every time we pulled our black tank valves! Cell service was barely accessible. Only 1 bar or less on AT&T and Verizon. Not good enough for streaming. Had to walk around the site and the campground sometimes just to make a call or check social media. We stayed for 6 nights as part of our Thousand Trails membership. I'm still unsure how much we ended up paying because we were at first charged extra for children we don't have. We haven't had any issues at 25 other TT campgrounds this past year, but Narrows Too said our reservation had a couple extra children and an extra adult so they charged us more. The office workers were rude and said "it's not our problem" and it took a couple days for the manager to call us back and let us know that they refunded some of our payment. The emailed receipt has multiple charges and multiple refunds so we don't know what the final cost was. But aside from the payment issues, the campground was fine for what we needed. The campground was almost empty when we stayed. We were assigned a site over in the corner with a couple other RVs. One neighboring RV wasn't occupied and the other neighbors were out exploring like us all day so it was pretty quiet. The "beach" looks pretty when the tide is in, but when the tide is out it's basically a muddy mess. No big deal since we just drove into Bar Harbor for better beaches.

Last minute trip for July 4th weekend. We looked everywhere, all booked. For some reason, this place had lots of sites left, which was a red flag at first. No bad reviews, but couldn't understand why this place wasn't booked like everywhere else. Took a chance.... was able to pick our site, so I picked one near the water ( not Waterfront, those were booked), but in the middle of vacant row. ( pics are from site 614) 10/10 would stay here again. Level gravel sites, good power, good water pressure, clean. Easy check in, and 15 mins from Acadia National Park. A good, clean, safe establishment on the water. They run a shuttle to Bar Harbour twice a day on weekends. So why wasn't it booked like everywhere else? Alot of the sites are Pull-In, which isn't conducive to travel trailers. (Utilities are on the wrong side)...there's plenty of Pull- Thru and Back-Ins, you just have to look at their map and find what you need. But the sites are big, the corner sites even bigger, and if you can land a waterfront site, you won't get a better view right outside your door. Although waterfront site were a little tight, a Class C hauling a trailer would have no issues with room in most of the sites. Their shower house has 2 outside designated dish washing sinks. Nice touch. Bathrooms were clean. Dog park was clean and actually had some agility obstacles to burn off energy. Downfalls.... The sewer hookups are not threaded fixtures, only drop in with your adapter. They really should upgrade this, it causes alot of spills when you dump your full tanks and the adapter falls out. Avoid site 500 if you have anything bigger than a pop-up. We don't make it a habit of visiting the same place twice, but if ever back in the area, we'll book here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a furnished cabin/apartment near Acadia. Our cabin had a furnished kitchen, queen bed, sofa bed, living room with a TV and a bathroom. There is additional sleeping space in the "attic" which may be useful if you have more kids. They also had a picnic bench, a firepit and a gas grill outside. Some cabins also have a covered patio. The cabins felt surprisingly new and very clean. These days because of Covid, they ask you to bring your own linens, which is a good practice. They also have a gap of 2 days between renting out the cabins again, which made us comfortable. The campground is next to water, which makes for a relaxing view. They rent out kayaks during high tide, as the water recedes very quickly. We did not rent the kayaks, but enjoyed the water view. Bar Harbor is about 20 minutes away, and most attractions in Acadia are between 20-30 minutes from here. There is a grocery store "edwards market" about a mile away, which closes at 8pm and a few lobster shacks nearby which serve pretty decent seafood which we also enjoyed. As others have mentioned, there are tourist biplanes and helicopters flying overhead, but mostly during the day, and did not bother us.
