Days Market & Deli — Local services in Truro

Went in for lunch and the wait just to take your order alone was pretty long. I wasn’t super upset over it because they were incredibly busy. Having used to work in the food industry it’s normal to have some off days. I ordered a tuna sandwich on a ciabatta that was so yummy and lobster mac and cheese to try. The sandwich was great the lobster mac was such a waste of money I was almost pissed lol. Tiny miniature pieces of lobster I think about 6 microscopic pieces in total I found. I could barely finish it because it was so bland and dry. Zero seasonings. The atmosphere felt cold since going under new management or owners.. not sure what the change exactly was but it’s something along those lines. It’s not homey like it used to be and I’ve been coming to Truro since I was 3. As I was waiting to pay I was greeted by a guy who said maybe two words to me, wasn’t rude but was very friendly either. He then was so cheery towards the white couple behind me. Told him his whole life story, asked where they were from etc. I got a hi and bye. Felt weird after seeing I was the only ethnic person in the store. Not sure what that was about. As I was leaving a worker chased me out of the store because she messed up our order and gave me the wrong sandwich. I’m pregnant and cannot eat certain deli meats so I’m happy they caught that, but also disorganized. My sandwich was good so maybe I’ll give them another go. I wanna hope it was just an off...

This is my first review ever. I walked in and had a few skipping stones in my hand that I just picked up on the beach. I was kinda clicking them together I guess and the lady behind the counter snapped at me and told me “STOP THAT” . Very rude and very nasty. A lady in line shared a look with me of “WOW,” did that just happen? I was in the store for about 1 full minute before this happened. My wife who was right near me said she didnt even hear the rocks clicking. I walked out with out saying a word.

On top of this my 13 year old daughter has two run ins with the staff .

The first when trying to use the orange juice machine she asked for help and the staff just looked at her like she was stupid, and a customer ended up helping her.The second when she called to order food and the guy who answered was basically yelling at her because he could not hear her.

Overall the staff is very rude and I’ll drive past this place every time that I am in North Truro. The old Days store was way better back. The new one while nicer looking on the outside lacks a warmth and desire for good customer service. I highly recommend not allowing these workers to treat anyone like they do. Four of us old friends stopped in on a recommendation from a Truro resident to try the Lobster rolls. They have 5 varieties and we tried 3 of them. They were expensive and delicious. My favorite - The Californian. 4 oz of lobster and beautifully toasted half-split rolls. My mouth is watering writing this and thinking about it. Cute store with many disparate items that someone carefully selected that would be needed by vacation goers.
