Went shooting here. Apparently faulty targets are common here as other reviewers have posted. Range rules were followed & no cable line was shot. Told the range staff immediately that the cable line had fallen. Was shooting three 8 round magazines, and on the 3rd magazine only 2 shots were fired when it fell. Both shots hit the "headshot area" on the target. No explanation from the staff could be given on how they believed the cable line was shot when all shots fired hit the target perfectly.
The owner claimed we shot the cable pulley system despite both shots being clean on the paper. The cardboard backstop they attach to the targets here simply recoiled too hard and didn't hold their cable system up properly, yet they charged us $40 for a new cable. The owner explained to us that when a bullet hits the paper, it explodes and flies "everywhere" and that it hit the cable line system. Been shooting for a very long time & never been told that's how a bullet operates.
Was not surprised, as the range didn't even follow their own safety rules allowing a customer to bring his rifle into the range to sight in without a case. I should have left right then and never came back.
Very unprofessional service here, and would not recommend unless you are a very inexperienced shooter and do not know what you are looking for in a range.
And to clarify before they say we argued about it, we simply packed up and left. A little clarification would have been nice but we were simply met with "Well the pulley system doesn't just fall down on it's own".
UPDATE: I called in to refute that we had been asked to stop shooting high. There was no RSO on duty and we were never asked to stop shooting high by anyone there. The owner said "Well I didn't witness it so I can't testify to that."
Also, the one customer that was inside the range at the time was scoping in a hunting rifle from 15 yards. Makes sense.
Then, when I was on the telephone with the owner refuting we had been asked to stop shooting high, he hung up on me and would not answer the phone again.
Real professionals here. Lying on the google review & then continuing to provide terrible customer service on...
Read moreIf I could go below ZERO I would, but it's not allowed! I recently visited this place while on vacation in Tucson, and this is one of the worst places I have visited in my entire life! My group was a number of 4, but only 3 wanted to shoot. We came with a rifle, and a Glock that contained 3 magazines. Well we left with 2, and a victim report because it was a petty criminal in the building! We notified a worker, and the unprofessional owner immediately! The owner had no compassion, and also had the nerves to believe it was a lie! Where is the logic? The owner is very ghetto, unprofessional, and rude! Did we blame the owner or worker? NO we did not! we asked if they could watch the many cameras above us to see who it was that stole a loaded magazine! The owner went as far as pointing fingers in my face and yelling in an already tensed situation! How triggering, and disrespectful! If you want to be treated with respect, and have a normal session of shooting this place is not it! Safe your money and go to the others ones! The owner was mad because we were disappointed, make that make sense! My group called the police, and so did the owner, and what did the owner say to dispatcher? come quick they armed! WOW! Both guns were packed and locked, but the owner made it seem like we were the aggressors! However we were able to get a police report because clearly the police watch the videos and seen what we said from the start! The owner and workers needs customer service classes or training immediately if that business plans...
Read moreHappy Saturday everyone! There’s a new sheriff in town! Presenting 520 Tactical Indoor Shooting Range! This indoor range is located where the old Marksman range was on 29th street between Craycroft and Swan. For those of you that went to this place when it was the Marksman you will no doubt remember what a dump it was along with a mostly unfriendly staff, and if you needed to use the restroom you had to go across the street to the park! I had heard good things about 520 but wanted to check it out for myself. What a great experience! Not only has the interior been refurbished with paint, floor covering, ceiling work, a functional bathroom, but they put in new AC units and evaporative coolers! The place looks great and feels great. Keith and his wife Ashley are the new owners and they could not be any nicer or helpful, great folks. You can also shoot larger caliber handguns and rifles than you could before. (I was squeezing a few rounds from my 454 Casull myself!) They also offer a wide selection of guns to rent and are you ready for this? They also rent out full autos and machine guns!! One more thing, those also host indoor USPSA and IDPA matches! Now that summer is upon us this is a great way to keep those skills sharp! We have no vested interest in 520 Tactical Indoor Shooting Range but as a local small business owner (James 410 Guns & Ammo) we want to support a fellow local small business owner and this is one that should be supported! Try them out- you’ll be...
