As a Tucson native I have used Cheri's prickly pear syrup several times; it's not as good as our homemade syrup, but I always thought it tasted ok.
When we planned a trip back to the East Coast to visit family. We considered bringing some of our homemade syrup, but due to carry-on restrictions we decided not to do that, and to order some from Cheri instead.
On 21 May I received an email saying that they had received my order, and had charged my credit card. I paid for Fed Ex delivery hoping that the order would arrive when we did for our vacation back East.
We ended our visit on 28 May, but the delivery had not been received. It was a bit embarrassing to have promised the gift and to be there visiting family without it. Fed Ex delivery was supposed to be between 4-5 days.
On 4 Jun my family texted and said that they had still not received any order. Today, 9 Jun, I located the original email and phoned. The customer service person said that something weird happened to my order. Apparently they had run out of the stock and could not fill it. But a couple of days later when their stock was received, my order was dropped from their list.
I explained that I had ordered express delivery hoping for a delivery at the end of May. He said that the delivery may arrive early next week... more than three weeks after charging my card. He said that he "hated to be so blunt" but there was nothing that he could do.
I hate to be so blunt, but I wish I could delay my payment to this company by three weeks.
My recommendation: don't order from here. I think their syrup will be leaving a sour aftertaste in my mouth due to this poor customer service.
Edited: who knew that so many people have had the same experience as me with the online ordering process from this company? I see several reviews from people with the same experience.
Since I live just a few miles from their location, I'll visit their company in person if the new delivery date is not met. Will...
Read moreOrdered online December 18, 2021 and only received a confirmation email. Month has passed and no communication or tracking number. I ended up getting a refund for the products only but not the shipping charges. This company refused to reply to emails, or phone call. I needed to file a credit card dispute to get shipping charges back, yet they had the audacity to say that they do not want to give shipping charges back because I did not cancel the order. I was waiting for it because I paid! Then cancelled because I got the amount for products back. I had to go back and forth with my credit card to retrieve my money for the shipping! This company is not honest, they are thieves and try to keep money for no reason! I am referring to placing orders online. This is my experience! I do not recommend this company, especially with online orders! They have a dishonest business practice and do not even bother to work with me to resolve the issue! Stay away from this...
Read moreOnly place close to downtown area that sells prickly pear products- I noticed Cheri's desert harvest products are stocked in other gift shops (western national park assoc) and online so was able to read up on the products. (And skip the shipping fee : D)
Shop front was a little invisible amidst the warehouse-y looking area but cute little area inside right next to where they make their products - shelves full of cactus marmalade, prickly pear syrup (for drinks/lemonade) and of course prickly pear candy. The store also had Arizona red lime jelly- thought that would be interesting to try.
Fast and friendly lady helped check me out!
They also sell organic versions of their marmalade and jelly candies.
Got too excited and forgot to take pics of...
