This is a great little place hidden in a shopping center behind the Burger King. You can hardly see it from the road. The place is immaculately clean and the people are wonderful. They have a dining area with tables that have tablecloths and chairs. There is also an outside dining area that was quite nice. I guess I should mention the food, which was really quite good. They had a taco Tuesday special where I got three different tacos for $6. One was beef, one was chicken, and one was pork. I'm sure you could mix that up anyway you wanted to. It came with lots of lettuce, some diced tomato and cilantro and some onions and sauce, etc. They all three tasted different and they were all three delicious. They also have a salsa bar with about 8 different kinds of salsa. They gave me a little bowl of chips and it was perfect. They also serve beer, which was a bonus, as beer and Mexican food go perfectly together. They have chilled glasses and all! It's a walk-up-to-the-counter and order kind of place, but they serve you at your table. They checked back with me and made sure everything was good. I really liked it! I definitely will go back there...
Read moreI was thoroughly unimpressed with this restaurant. I went during lunch on a Tuesday and honestly shocked to see people just lining up from the register to the door. I ordered the Carne Asada fries and the quality of the food really left a lot to be desired. The meat did not have much flavor and there was a lot of gristle and it was over cooked. The guacamole had been left out in the air and had that taste that it gets when it sits on the counter exposed to the air for a few hours, not a good taste. The portion sizes of the guac and sour cream and pico were small relative to the portion size of over cooked bland tasting meat. No complaints on the French fries though 😁 The restaurant was clean, however it didn't feel as though they had any sort of AC working in the restaurant as it was quite warm and humid. I guess Filiberto's and Riliberto's have really set the bar for me as far as my expectations go for fast Mexican food. For the same price I can get something that I believe is 5 times better of a product in every measurable category and for that reason, I will not be...
Read moreBudget-friendly, delicious, always friendly staff, and their open 24hours. When only corner-stores and RedBox-qiosks are open and everything else is closed at 2:00AM, it's great that El Beto is open for business. Here, was the 1st time I ever tried a Tucson Burrito; with my 32+ years living on Tucson.... And I don't know how I have never tried one anywhere before, but DAMN IT'S GOOD: Ham, bacon, potatoes, cheese and carne-asada...It's like a meatlovers-pizza delivered via a burrito (without the stuffed-crust of course). I have come here to El Beto for a couple of years, and I have never been disappointed. From their tacos and burritos to their full-plated meals, ,everything I have had has been cooked fresh and delicious, and wwith their well-sized portions I always end up having something for later. Which makes their reasonable prices all the...
