I don't normally write reviews, but felt compelled after my recent experience getting a facial. First off, this is not a review for the student. She did fine. The actual facial was pretty good. This is a review for the school itself. Maybe they will see this and make some changes. If I could describe my experience in one word, it would be UNPROFESSIONAL. Facials are supposed to be relaxing. It is one of their primary purposes. Nothing about this was relaxing, unfortunately. The room where you get your facial done in is a large, bare bones type room with no decor, but some clutter. You are not in individual rooms so you not only don't get any privacy, but you can hear every conversation happening between everyone in that room--conversations between fellow students, between students and teachers, between clients and students. They also had "top 40" songs playing. At one point the song "summer time sadness club remix" was playing--NOT RELAXING! At real spas, they have very relaxing almost meditation-like music playing in the background. This place was fairly ghetto too--for example, the hot towels they put on your chest and face look like rags. They are tattered, frayed and all together very worn. And they are being placed on your face!! The previous skin school I went to (out of state) was top notch--beautiful, bright and colorful decor, very professional students, a product wall full of professional skin care products at the entrance, relaxing music playing, and a friendly front desk girl. I could go on for another paragraph about how unfriendly the older front desk lady was during my visit. Just be better! Aspire to be more than a mediocre, subpar school! Teach your students professionalism--you're only doing a disservice to them by not teaching them these essential things in a customer-centered profession. I would be willing to pay more if you improved, but based on this experience I won't be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've used them several times before for myself and my daughters, and I've always been pretty happy. I left really disappointed today, but a lot of it was fairly minor issues that were just kind of the final straw. The student Dorismar was wonderful the whole time, did a good job washing and cutting my hair, and she tried really hard to salvage the crappy experiences with one of the supervisors. I have albinism and recently got diagnosed with heart failure, which caused me to gain a lot of weight very rapidly that I'm trying to get off, and I lost a lot of hair, among other things. I'm not particularly attractive, so I'm already a fat, plain, pale, middle aged woman, and my confidence is pretty horrible from the jump. Luckily, I'm taking a trip to my hometown next week, and my crush agreed to go on a date with me while I'm there. I can't be younger or thinner by next week, but I thought I could at least get my hair done so I could feel a little better about myself and look nice when I see him. I was feeling pretty good and was proud of myself for being proactive and taking the day off to do something nice for myself. We're almost ready to get started, one supervisor comes and checks everything, and then a second supervisor comes over and starts grabbing my hair and making faces and telling me how gross my hair is. Dorismar followed what she said and took me back to re-wash with a clarifying shampoo. The lady comes back, is talking to Dorismar about me like I'm not sitting right there, then reiterates to me just how disgusting my hair is, and I do think she was trying to be helpful. She says Dorismar shouldn't do the perm I wanted but maybe I can get some shampoo to fix my hair while I'm there. So, ultimately, I wasted half my day off and left without the service I came for, but at least I got a new insecurity to heap on top of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had a lash lift service done by Terry Gasca, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results! Terry is incredibly skilled and attentive, and the entire experience was not only relaxing but also left me with beautiful, lifted lashes that perfectly suit my face shape. She took the time to explain the process step-by-step, which made me feel confident and comfortable throughout the service. I also loved how Ms. Svobb was involved in the session, offering valuable insights and guidance to Terry, which only added to the professionalism and expertise in the room.
However, I do have to mention one issue that I found a bit unsettling. During my appointment, Ms. Montez was present but did not engage in the same way as Ms. Svobb. I had my eyes closed for most of the procedure, but I couldnāt help but notice that I wasnāt greeted upon arrival, unlike with Ms. Svobb and Terry. I understand that thereās a lot going on during a service like this, but in an industry where customer service and professionalism are key, it felt a bit off. As a client, I would have appreciated a more welcoming presence, especially considering how warm and professional the rest of the team was.
Overall, Terryās expertise and the quality of the lash lift were outstanding, and because of her exceptional skills, I will definitely be recommending her to others seeking lash services. Her dedication to perfecting her craft truly shines through, and I have no doubt that anyone who receives a service from her will be in great hands. That said, I do think that every staff member should maintain a consistent level of professionalism and customer interaction to make every client feel valued and acknowledged. Itās the little things that can make all the difference in ensuring a...
