We heard good things so we went here and joined. Within just a couple of weeks I noticed that a lot of the staff was rude, immature, and unprofessional. I observed certain staff members being rude to each other. After a while some of them were also rude to me over minuscule things.
Once, I talked to a supervisor about something I’d witnessed that bothered me and guess what? After that, the staff overtly became hostile to me and intentionally was rude to me. I was told I could be honest and that it was a safe space— but that wasn’t true.
We definitely did not feel welcome at all. This was a very hostile environment— you would think a jewish place would be welcoming, given their history.
Their ECE program was not good. The one time I went to pick up my child, the panicked teachers didn’t know how many students were supposed to there at that moment and they didn’t know where the one kid was. I noticed he was under the crib and pointed it out to them, and then they were relieved. But they were just sitting there and chatting instead of watching the kids, which is not really paying attention to the children.
And for whatever reason something was always broken in the JCC. They also seemed to care a LOT about money, which was super annoying.
The members who went here did not seem very friendly or welcoming. I definitely got a very stuck up, judgmental, and hostile tone from a lot of people I met here— and this tone extended to my 10 month old!! They treated my 10 month old in the same stuck up, judgmental, and hostile tone which was very upsetting. Seriously, who treats a baby like that?? The people at the JCC, that’s who.
Basically if you like stuck up, judgmental, and hostile people and have no problems being rude to people and young children, you’ll fit right in and have a great time. If you are looking for a friendly welcoming place, keep looking!...
Read moreThis review is only for the membership services. The ECE is really amazing, and I would recommend it to anyone.
My Children attended the JCC for years and years, and it was absolutely lovely. Until it came time for us to cancel our membership.
I have spent the last three months fighting simply to get my membership cancelled, being told different things, by different people, each time.
We gave our 30 day notice, we paid for an enrollment we weren't there for, we paid for a month of services we weren't going to attend, and now at this juncture, I've paid for FOUR months of membership, that we haven't used.
The first time I called, the woman assured me our cancellation was all set, and that I didn't need to take any further action. The next month I am charged. I call back and they say "Oh well that shouldn't have happened, you're all set now, have a nice day." I got charged a third time, and called again today, only to be told "Well you never e-mailed us, so there's no record, so we're not going to give you your money back, for the months you haven't even stepped foot in the door."
The ECE is amazing, and the JCC is lovely, but the membership customer service...
Read moreParents… pay attention to who’s transporting your children. These days I’d honestly audit drivers who transport my children with video. I don’t support the idea of older drivers on the road. I’m a fleet manager myself and due to insurance reasons we can’t chance having older drivers and this is a perfect example. Everyone is sue happy these days and this guy is either going to trigger a road rage shoot out or crash and kids will be hurt and JCC will be sued. You have no idea this shuttle transports kids. I have video before the incident where this guy has both hands on the wheel AND STILL all over the road. This guy is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
The staff when I reported it were nothing but amazing and compassionate. But when it comes down to it this road hazard came from JCC onboarding. I HIGHLY Recommend JCC to install systems like Samsara and do thorough paperwork so in court you can prove you put a road worthy, trained personnel on the road so responsibility is limited to JCC. I hope I don’t see this gentleman on the roadway again because if he causes an issue down the line I’ll sit in another legal disposition against this driver with a now...
