Time for an expert review of the USCIS building. Also this review is for biometrics processing only. I cannot vouch for the other services.
You have to pay for parking at a public lot next door and it's basically an $8 cash grab (figurativley and literally) since there is no other parking options around and yes, they only take cash, no credit or debit.
Getting in, security is tight, so you'll have to take almost everything off, like the good ole days at the airport.
Overall I had a very pleasant experience and found the two folks I interacted with friendly and helpfull. The wait time was very minimal and I was out of there in about 30 min. I would say if you can, avoid lunch time, that's when staff numbers are limited. Also, I'd recommend getting there much sooner that your appointment time.
At the end of the day, this is government office, so if you treat folks with respect, you'll be treated with respect, this applies to everywhere (can't understand why all the...

Low quality staff: When you are taking Oath of Allegiance, it is read to you by an officer with abysmal English. We were there at 11:50. The (not really English speaking) officer said it is too late to register and we have to wait until next batch. The actual ceremony started 10 minutes later; she was just sitting waiting, so there was plenty of time. And we had to wait for over an hour for 1:00 pm Oath ceremony even though we were there on time for ours!
So, as in most empowered government entities where you cannot complain to anyone: they wipe their feet with you and that...

Only parking available is adjacent to the building for $8 fee. I came without an appointment, but given my particular circumstances, the official allowed me to enter while he consulted with his supervisor. I wondered if being a well-dressed, white male was a factor. Despite being woefully understaffed, I was impressed with their efficiency and how they respected their anxious, needy clients. In the midst of an intimidating, inadequately funded bureaucracy, I truly believe the employees are doing their best to perform in a frequently criticized, extremely demanding,...
