I want to start off by saying I love hangers of hope as a company and I think they do great things. I shop at the other locations and I love supporting them. So this next part I say with love and hope in things will change. This location’s prices are extremely high compared to other locations in Tyler. The clothes are priced at consignment shop prices but nothing about this hangers of hope is curated, organized (lot of the sizing is mixed up), or has an abundance of quality brands, like a consignment shop would. Most of the jewelry was priced $3-$5 more than other locations. A worker did say that pricing person googles everything and will price accordingly. There were Walmart brand clothing items that were prices at the price Walmart sells them at or $1 less. Anything with a new tag was $20 or $30 unless the original price was under $20, then the HOH price was $2-$4 lower. The workers were not very kind but maybe they were collectively having a bad day (which is okay sometimes). Lastly the store is not stocked enough. It could be because they are newer but it was my impression that they weren’t putting enough out and are compensating with the higher prices. I suggest supporting the cause at another location. The two other locations are wonderful and priced at prices that are appropriate for the quality of item you are getting. I would love to go back and visit this location later and ultimately add more stars to my review if things...
Read moreI understand the mission of HOH and I know they do great things for the needy in the community. I also understand that everything, including health care prices have increased in the last 3 years. Having said that: Why are prices ridiculously higher at this location than the other two stores (which are already high enough as it is)? The needy people who could benefit from shopping at HOH are literally priced OUT of being able to shop there. Why is this store so nasty and disorganized compared to the others? Given the large amount of FREE donations they receive from the people of the community, why don't you lower prices a bit? Example: there are 50 items on the shelf but I can only afford 2 of them. If I could afford 20 of them, that would make more room on the shelf for more donations, instead of them BEING THROWN IN THE DUMPSTER. Yes, the secret is out, we know this is done routinely. Why doesn't this location accept phone numbers for their regular shoppers like the other two locations do? I've been told "we don't take phone numbers here" on three seperate occasions by three different cashiers. That's like me going to the Brookshires in Berfeld and being told they don't accept the TY card. What's up...
Read moreToday I felt the difference, when I wasn"t buying something, but returning a DVD player I purchased a week ago. Wasn't sure about buying a old DVD player. I ask one of their employees about return policies on electronics. Their employee state " than if it didn't work I could returned it for a refund. At home I set it up with our TV and couldn't get to play . Took it back today to check out, the clerk said "I need to show my recipe" I replied that I would bring my recipe in next time came in, how long will I have to return it with the recipe? He ask how long ago did you get it? One week ago, I replied. The genders of hope clerk said "you only had 24 hours to return it!" Why didn't the clerk let know I had only 24 hours to return? ""They should have" was his replacement! I shopped at hangers of hope because they helped the poor, but today a 76 yr old on social security left with less hope and asking our Lord to forgive for they know not...
