Went to this location today to buy some fencing panels to replace a privacy fence at my new lease home. They had 2 different types on display in the front of the store. I picked the more expensive nicer of the 2 types. 6' x 8' panels for around 76$. I took a picture of the item # and paid at the front. We go to pick up the panels In front of the store, and they didnt even have them in stock. What they did have was some damaged panels that were of the cheaper variety. They were usable but looked bad with chips and breaks all in the planks and boards. I needed something and they were offered to me at a 50% discount by an employee. I had to go explain to the customer service department, and get 600$ refunded to my card. The woman there acted like I must have been trying to pull a scam and was not very nice or receptive, although it was their mistake and incompetence that caused this whole situation. I went back to lumber, had to stand in the line another 20 minutes to pay for the substandard discounted panels. A manager lady was called. She did not like that an employee had offered the discount and was not a manager and apparently did not have the authority to offer that. The manager lady went out to my truck and inspected the panels and she agreed they were worthy of a discount. No apologies for all this were offered and I was made to feel that somehow all this was my fault. I wasnt too mad since I got a discount and it would serve it's purpose. After I returned home I thought about the situation, and realized I could use the rest of those damaged panels on the pallet to replace the existing fence at my home. About 4 hours later I decided to stop by again and try to talk to the same staff about the prospect of purchasing the pallet at the discounted rate, if it was available. I still needed the better quality panels for my initial project as well. The damaged ones weren't even what I was trying to get. I spoke to another employee in the lumber area on this trip about the situation. She went and hopped on her telephone and I tried to wait patiently. I was accosted by another worker man, I'm sure he felt i was loitering. I told him I was waiting on the woman. I asked him to find out what the wait would be to order the better quality panels that i initially needed. He told me to hang on, and spoke to another woman. I saw her shaking her head no, and had a disagreeable, Karen type look about her. The worker man did not give me a straight answer. Soon the first woman that hopped on her phone comes and was pleased to tell me "NO, they wouldn't be offering anymore discounts today...". I could tell she enjoyed telling me "NO". The worker man snickered, and that that was cute. I didnt appreciate the way these trashy employees made me feel. I was made to feel like I was in there begging for a discount or something. Good luck selling those damaged panels. I left and went across town to the other major competitor. Im plessed to say they had plenty of both typed of panels, and they were actually a cheaper price. Went ahead and spent 750$ there on the stuff I needed. Home depot tyler, this isnt the first time I've had troubles with you. I stopped shopping with your competitor about 15 years ago because of similar problems. Letting you know I am FINISHED with spending money in your store. You have...
Read moreToday I have been really disappointed with one of the associates at this store. I was looking for a few items that I needed and only found 2. However, I realized that I needed to get a couple of keys made also. I saw that there was an automatic key machine and went to it. I had been there trying to figure the machine out for only about 2-3 minutes and there was another lady that came up after me looking to get a key made as well.. The associate (Manni) came over with another customer and asked me if I was using the machine. I told him that I was and that I was trying to figure it out. He then responded with I don't know and he said that about 3 times. I moved to the side thinking that he was going to help me since I was already there and trying to figure it out but he then proceeded to make the key for the gentleman that he was helping. The lady who came after me asked him to make her key as well. He took her key and started to look for a key blank to make hers. I had the key that I needed the entire time in my hand so I left. I returned to this store and told him that I appreciate him taking care of the 2 people that needed keys while I was standing there trying to figure out the complicated machine. I told him that that was very great of him. He then told me that the lady was there before I was and I told him that he was wrong. As I was leaving he told the gentleman "I don't get it, some people". I turned around and went back to him and told him that first of all I'm not "some people" I am a person and reminded him again of what happened. He then said "whatever ,whatever, you can leave the store. Good thing for me that I did because I went right to Wal-Mart, got everything that I needed cheaper that what I would have paid for it here at this store. I will be shopping at Lowes from now on. ...
Read moreI can attest to previous statements as to the absolutely poor quality of customer service at this location.
Spent approximately 2 hours trying to buy a riding mower and trailer - so much paperwork, no one seemed to know how to do ANY of it, everyone seemed more interested in pointing fingers and saying "That is the other departments responsibility, you'll have to talk to them".
Phone rang CONSTANTLY while I was there, and rarely did I see anyone bother to interrupt whatever they were doing (often rather trivial, in comparison) to ever answer it.
Even after all was said and done, they did not complete the important sections needed to register the trailer. Had to go to the local Home Depot and practically beg them to take care of it (they were understandably hesitant, as it's signing off on a different stores transaction) - and then another part of the paperwork was filled out incorrectly, so that it caused even more issues when registering.
Nothing was streamlined. Not paperwork, nor process of sale, not follow-through on the sale. Departments pointed fingers when it came to assembling the trailer tailgate (no one wanted to do it).
It's a shame that the local store sold the last mower and trailer that I wanted to buy - this would have been so much nicer a transaction here.
Tyler - hire more people. Stop trying to shave the bottom line by not having enough people on your sales floor. Workers will go into a self-defense when it comes to being overworked. "I can't give a flying fig, or I'll have a stroke" (and they're not wrong).
These issues are the sole responsibility and fault of Tyler MANAGEMENT, not the sales people.
Corporate can be held to blame as well, as they've not addressed these issues that people have been complaining...
