I really need to stop waiting so long to give restaurants a second or third chance.
After 5 years, I decided today was the day to go back to Aspen Creek Grill - Tyler and I couldn’t be any happier that I did. The entire experience was great.
I walked in shortly after the lunch rush and the hostess immediately sat me at a table in the bar area. That’s where I got to meet Irais (part of the reason for my amazing visit).
She asked me what I wanted to drink and then told me she’d be back shortly. I already had an idea of what I wanted to eat, so I quickly glanced over the menu and decided as she was walking back with my water.
I ordered the 16oz grilled ribeye (medium rare) with the peppercorn cream sauce. For my 2 sides, I chose the loaded baked potato with a side of ranch and the mac and cheese.
Roughly 10-15 minutes went by and she was already bringing my food to the table. She asked me to cut into the steak to check it, but I gave it the old finger test and instantly knew it was cooked right. Shortly after she walked away, I cut into the steak and verified it was indeed perfectly cooked.
I tried a bite without the cream sauce and I honestly have to admit it was incredible!!! It was perfectly seasoned and so juicy. I cut another bite off and dipped it into the peppercorn cream sauce and instantly fell in love😍. The flavor it added just made it that much more amazing.
The baked potato was very good and loaded full of bacon, cheese, and sour cream. I added a bit of ranch and it was perfect. By the way, their ranch is heavenly.
About that time, Irais came by the table to check on me and ask how everything was. I praised everything, but I had to tell her the truth about the mac and cheese. It was dryer than my sense of humor. She looked at it and agreed and offered to bring me a different side. I chose the green beans. I feel like it was fate to be honest. If they didn’t bring me that bowl of desert noodles, I would have never had the opportunity to try their amazing green beans.
A few minutes later, the manager came by. I believe his name was Victor. He was very polite and apologetic about the mac and cheese. He returned a few minutes later with some legit mac and cheese. It was very cheesy and definitely not dry.
I can’t recommend this place enough, especially after having such a great...
Read moreI don't understand why this place got so many positive reviews! Service was awful and food was mediocre.
Me and my husband tried it for the first time on 2.4.23. Brandon was our server. Started off with a drinks and appetizer. They were out of the special margarita advertised on the menu and website. Ok. So I ordered something else to drink. Appetizers came. We had no silverware. Server came back to take our order, still no silverware. By this time, my husbands drink was empty. We both ordered steaks and salad. Salads came. Still no silverware after asking. Both our drinks were empty by this time. A couple sat at the table next to us, Brandon gave them silverware and took their drink order. Finally our steak dinners arrived. Still no silverware for the appetizer or salads. Finally he came back with silverware, and we find that both our steak knives were dirty. I had to wipe them clean with a napkin because sever was nowhere around. It was disgusting! By time we finally were able to eat our appetizer and salads, the steaks were cold. For a Friday or Saturday night, the service shouldn’t be that terrible. Food was pretty bland. Salads were drenched in dressing. Sides didn’t really have any seasoning. Steaks were just ‘ok’ for $75. I’ve had much better steaks elsewhere. I will not...
Read moreWe have liked eating here in the past, so today we went in for some ribeye steaks around lunch time. We were greeted with "There's a 10-15 min. wait." Well, Ok. My wife has weak legs and can't stand for very long and there wasn't any seating because of other people waiting. We stood in the corner waiting until I walked through to the restroom. I noticed there were lots of empty tables and booths in the dining area I had passed through. I asked the greeter about that, and why we all had to wait instead of being seated. She explained something about "They had sold some tickets, and was trying to catch up after getting behind because of these tickets." I have no idea what she was talking about, so we continued to wait with the growing crowd trying to get in for lunch. When the 15 min. were up I asked if we could be seated now. She replied "Its only been 14 min." So I said "So you will get us seated in 1 min.?" "I will have to check on that..." was the answer. So I said Ok we will go to Saltgrass and have our steaks there. Bye Bye. I will never go to this place again. I think they did us a favor though, because the steaks we had at the Saltgrass were by far better than the steaks at this place. And the servers much more attentive and friendly than these...
